Here is My idea on installation Guide.

REQUIREMENTS:
Webserver with PHP5 or 4 or newer
i recommend using
http://www.wampserver.com/en/ wamp server is very small but very capable web server package.

I used it on my
http://johnd.mrqgamez.com
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html xampp server on the other hand is a big bulky and very fully featured server that has almost everything u need to start a webserver service, from smtp servers to ftp servers.

I used xampp on this webserver you are on now.
PHP Pear http://pear.php.net/
PHP Pear DB package is needed for this site to work.

You will get DB.PHP not found if u dont have pear.

To install Pear is rather rather easy, if u have those two webserver package i mentioned above. Just go to there Php (4/5) folder that your are using (wamp would be at c:\wamp\php and xampp would be at c:\apachefriends\xampp\php5) and Run the Gopear.bat , it will then talk you in the pear installation, you can choose to install other pear packages, but we only need Pear DB package for Muyoolz

ODBC system dsn's
Your Webserver or the computer you are going to run Mutoolz v2.x must have capability to create ODBC system dsn.

The Name of ur System Dsn is up to you. just do not forget to edit this is in the config.php (
$MUtoolz = 'MUtoolz'; // MuOnline ODBC system dsn / database name ), where Mutoolz is the system dsn name
also on creating Mutoolz odbc system dsn follow these few rules

The Driver ur going to use SQL Server.
It must connection using Authentication ( SQL authentication using a login ID and Pass ) , the login and pass must be the same as in ur config (
$dbuser= "sa";
$dbpass= "xxxxx"; )

Point the database or change the default database in your Muonline databse. test connect it and u should have no more problems.

PHP enviromental setup needed. php.ini tweaks
Enable php_mssql.dll ( well just to make sure u can connect )
Enable php_gd2.dll ( to be able to create images, we use this for guild logo and other stuff )

setting smtp config (
[mail function]
; For Win32 only.
SMTP = xx.xx.xxx.xxx
smtp_port = 25

; For Win32 only. ) that should be understandble
DATABASE CHANGES and SQL QUeries to make ur Mutoolz work ok!

Use Muonline;
alter table Character add Resets int;
alter table Character add mu_id int identity;
go

run this on ur query analyser and u should be ok!

INSTALLATION:

Install ur Website server for either WAMP or XAMPP
Install Pear

Setup your Odbc system dsn
edit ur php.ini

Do the Database Changes

Configure your Mutoolz's config.php
and off u go!

wat page are u looking at.

i get this error when i try to connect to the sql db through a remote computer
any1 got any ideas ?

WOw.. that would be very obvious ur not allow to go in..

here is some idea though.
1. The sql server does not exist.
2. The sql server doesnt have mix mode authentication
3. The sql server is not listening to 1433 TCP
4. The Username password is wrong.

how would i allow mix mode auth on the sql server

i dont remember wat wer it is.. been a while since i opened the enterprise manager.

but it should be there.

try rightclicking the mssql server there ( probably told called local ) ... go to propertise.. look for it.

great thread, i do all listed and when i open index.php in the browser i get a black box with a thumbs up and in it is black text which says

Sql_Error
[nativecode=28000 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'MUSERVER\IUSR_MUSERVER'.] ** odbc://sa:@MUtoolz

i can see it is some kind of login fail. how to fix this?

Make a new DSN in ODBC named Mutoolz, Select default Database MuOnline

maybe that fix ur problem

i have problem with the GD lib...
i have configered in the php.ini that the gd2 is enabled - and still he dont show me the guild pics...

I'm not a php wiz, is there anyway to just use the register.php as part of another page, or build a page around it. I would like to use my own page design but use the registration portion of mutoolz. Is there a way to do this. Credits will be given on page if I can just use the one portion.

Like to register you'd goto like http://myaddress.com/register.php and be able to register an account. I like the whole mutoolz site but, I don't believe I know enuf to edit the look to my likeing.

Ok, when I edit the php.ini file to enable the dll's and changed the extension_dir to point to the right place. I restart IIS, then go to my site IIS give an error, that the dll could not be found.

I make the line "extension_dir = ./extensions
My php_mssql.dll and php_gd2.dll are in C:\php\extensions.

Did I miss something?

Error is "Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library './extensions/php_gd2.dll' - The specific module could not be found."

Then get the same error for php_mssql.dll

turk, i had that prob when i went to my ranking page

if u look in the instructions above it has some lines you have to inject into your MuOnline database. You do that in SQL's Query Analyzer.

Once I did that everything worked great.

i already fixed that.. ill post in the forum later the updated files.. there is only two files that are updated to fix that.

it happends when a foreach() loop is run and the data sent is empty. happens when the vault empty or the account has no character..

nothing to really worry about... it is just a minor flaw in the design.

u can even fix it ur self.

by opening user.php and admin.php
and looking for the
foreach loops

it looks like this

foreach ($results as $results => $value {
lots of stuff here

to avoid a foreach empty problem.. u can this to enclose the entire foreach statement
if (is_array($results)) {
then the foreach loop here

This is the error that i take from site when try to login, no matter wich account i use.

Well, in fact, i take this error when try to login and than it seems to me that i am logged in. On left side have a menu "My account" in place when been login form, but clicking on "My account" and other butons takes same error. It seems like a problem with connection to ODBS. I install everyting like you say in tuotirial, but not working properly :(

I'm not using MuToolz, but I use some of it functions (I use things from all packages), and I saw that your package has a nice thing that shows how much time is remaining to bc & ds! That's a cool idea man! But I tried to find that to use it on my web and I couldn't, can you give me some pointers?
