is this even nearly possible?
im at work right now and trying to fix a connection problem i noticed something about the cpu memory, it was completely full, the only thing that was left was 157MB so i started deleting old stuff like excel things and stuff. only got 2GB free started looking for the biggest folder and came up with the windows folder, it had 54GB of memory. is this even possible, i know windows uses lots of memory but from my point of view 54 GB is far beyond any number i could thought about.
im thinking of getting the pc formatted, but well i wanted a second opinion and maybe if someone had a problem like this a suggestion.
Re: is this even nearly possible?
You mean disk space? And not memory like in RAM memory.
Anyway,
does this help? HUGE Windows folder (22.2 GB) Help please!! - Tech Support Guy Forums
Re: is this even nearly possible?
Download a program called Treesize.
It shows you all your folders like explorer, but shows how much space they are taking up,and have a yellow bar(the long the bar,the more space it is taking).
I have managed to save nearly 40gb thanks to this :)
Re: is this even nearly possible?
so i dled the treesize program and showed me that iw as using about 45GB of disk memory in just the installer fodler, deletion there may cause error on windows?
Re: is this even nearly possible?
So I wouldnt recommended deleting it. Sounds like a bad idea. What I would do is go around the folder finding specific large files that you are not using and delete them. It would not hurt to delete the small ones your not using as well.
Re: is this even nearly possible?
Have you try cleaning it with CCleaner?

Don't delete any system files or files that windows needs,it will most likely show your TEMP folders etc as the bigger non important ones.
I think it is safe to delete the contents of the temp folder, but back it up before you do it,just in-case.
Re: is this even nearly possible?
Hi. Well I had this problem once, and I can assure you, I had a hard time fixing it.
All I did is cleaning with CCleaner (like nzrock just said).
I first thought i was some kind of virus, I still don't know it got full. All I know is that "AppData" is taking all memory /facepalm
Re: is this even nearly possible?
ill just install windows all over again and end like that its not temp folders or any stuff like that, its the Install folder thats eating 45GB of my disk, btw it was hidden so i dont think deleting it would be an option
Re: is this even nearly possible?
back it up before you delete it
Re: is this even nearly possible?
heh... some people should learn more about computers before getting on the internet...
Re: is this even nearly possible?
formatia y lito :P
cuando tengas el win ya instalado, usa el ccleaner para borrar todo lo que no necesitas de la pc, usalo por lo menos 1 vez a la semana.
