hi,
i want to buy a portable game player and i dunno if i should buy a nintendo ds or a psp ?!?!?!?!?
i want to hack it so i can have free game, i know that ds required a sd card (20$) and psp can be hack with program.
What do you think, PSP OR DS.... whatever the model.
Might want to hold out for a bit - DS3D's out later this month, and PSP2's out soon as well.
It honestly depends what kind of games you want...
Both can be "hacked" really easily. DS with a flash cart (~$15) and PSP with a Jigkick battery + MMS (can be done with your own battery, but you'll want to buy a new one).
psp2 look sick... but i dunno if it will be easy and fast to hack.Quote:

Yeah, I heard my friend talking about the DS3D in school, it sounds pretty amazing tbh. I haven't heard anything about the PSP2 really though, or seen it being promoted much (but that's just me).Quote:

There isn't much promoting yet because the PSP2 is still far from being released while the Nintendo 3DS has been released.
The PSP2's main features are a touchpad in the back (like a mousepad build in laptops), a touchscreen, 2 analog sticks and all this powered by a quad core. Yes, you read that last part right.
The PSP2 will have a much higher resolution then the current PSP and with the power it has it will be able to run PS3 games. Obviously the device isn't as powerful as a PS3, but since the resolution is lower and the PPI (pixel per inch) much higher it won't have to run the same resolution and it can remove anti aliasing while the PSP2 will give you the same kind of quality feeling as the PS3 does.
All in all the PSP2 is a powerhouse, it will allow you to run top notch shooters, racers etc, and then I mean the actual thing, not watered down versions or versions specifically made for the handheld, but the actual version that was also made for PC, 360 and PS3.
Obviously the PSP2 gives me a erection.
That's cool, though I think my xbox is fine ^^; My sister will probably get one she's a PSP lover.

I would definitely say DS but it would also depend on what games you like...
PSP - more like the fighting games + racing game
DS - pokemon? - most popular game for DS or car racing games e.g. mario kart
psp is the way to go.

I have all the DS's from DS to DSiXL... (I even have GBA, GameBoy Color and GBA sp laying around somewhere)
The only one missing is 3DS.
I never had a PSP...
Played on it. PSP is more gore style gaming while DS is more like happy face gaming.
if you get what I mean.
So it's really up what kind of gamer you are.
I'd go with the PSP if you plan on hacking it - far bigger userbase for homebrew, and such, on it... emulators, etc.
PSP, im running 3.71M33 firmware on it with irshell and its amazing soo many options.
