Before I make a server, I wanna ask some question.
Well, I wanna start with telling you that, I failed before..
I was like 12 years old when I tried to make a server.. which I did, but I couldnt figure out how to set-up the server to the internet and stuff.
I Set-up the whole SQL echelon, but the internet problem was really bothering me and It got me so frustrated, so I quitted, I spent days tring to figure out - how would I do this, how would i'd do that.. but I just couldnt figure it out..
If you dont know how to connect the server to the internet, then you dont got no control panel.
OK...
Well, I live in germany and the main reason why I couldnt figure out how to connect the server to the internet is that, my MODEM Control panel server or whatever, is all in german.. and there was no tutorial for our brand/company that I use, it was all filipino internet service.. so, that was the main reason why I did continue the server, jeyci did everything he could, but he couldnt understand the language..
I really wanna get back into it now so much..
Its been 3 years, And I really forgot to set up the scripts and etc..... I totally forgot bout everything - (Server wise)
If anybody would like to help me out 1 on 1, that would be great!!
Thanks and God Bless!
Re: Before I make a server, I wanna ask some question.

Re: Before I make a server, I wanna ask some question.
@TS
If you not sure how to port forward then just search on Google, same to me, I'm Chinese and all guide is in Philippines Modem/Broadband/etc, but I ask Google, google told me how to do it.
Re: Before I make a server, I wanna ask some question.
magic google translator i propose :p
btw personal question TS what is your as right now?
did you manage to self study about port forwarding?
i give you a tip and some points suggestion ( well somewhere else here too ).
First know your modem ( if its dsl modem or wi-fi/ router modem ) model name and number ( ex. Zyxel xxx-xx-xx etc. )
second direct to modem us. modem to pc only.
third.. effort.. ( kinda stress and frustrating if your not willing to learn or you know what i mean.. )
fourth .. google it... search your modem model and find a clue how you can port forwarding.
ex. of port forwarding.
in d-link you can access it using is web interface login tool so you can config it. default settings of some router is " 192.168.1.1 " and the default user: admin pass : admin
you have now a administrative rights to change settings of your router.
there is a forwarding option on it. actually it will tell you/input to add a source ports and the destination ip and protocol to use. usually protocol to use is tcp and udp . there should be a save button to save it and after it reboot the router modem.
understanding of this is to connect other remote pc in to your own pc.
understanding firewall is another part of procedure.. so you need to.. read more about firewall if the router modem is in default firewall checked/ on.
Note : some router modem have different issues in accessing it. ip base or login base. depending on the isp provider you get. they already change and set up it. so know how to factory reset. there is a reset button using a ball pen or any pointless to press it. there should be one somewhere in your router side.
if you want to learn more info about port forwarding. reads some articles and guides.
if you think my suggestion is kinda helping give me a thanks.

Re: Before I make a server, I wanna ask some question.
You have to configure both your router and modem to make it work, you must setup a 'Virtual Server' or 'Port Forwarding' (the name differs depending on the modem/router
for that go to 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.2.1 in case of a router and most of them got settings to make game servers, you have to open the ports of your server by forwarding (for example) port 5001 to 5001 and use your LAN IP to chose where it's forwarded to or your MAC address (depends on what router/modem you have) to get either of those you need to go CMD (Run > cmd) and type in IPConfig /all
then search in the output for the information you need (Mac Address is also often displayed somewhere in the router/modem configuration)
also : Even if you successfully setup portforwarding, if you try to connect to your own server using your own router, you might not get any access, you need to try if someone from the outside can access
