Exp / Exp -Rates

Hi there,

Currently i have some problems with my exp rates...
I try to explain as good as possible..

For example :

The server rates are 25x ( 2500 in my hotuk )

When i put a monsters exp to 1.000.000 you expect that monster will give 25.000.000 exp
This is not the case.. Monsters only give 11.000.000 exp ( 11x )

When i put more then 1.000.000 exp to mobs they will give -%

Then i noticed that ET3 mobs have 3.000.000 exp and they wont give -%
But the total amout of exp that you gain is 17.000.000 ( + - 5x )

When i put more then 3.000.000 exp to ET3 mobs they also give -% or just very low exp..

My questions are:

1. Does the server rates actually work? Or do i need to do more then just change the rates in my hotuk?

2. How is it possible that every mob expect ET3 mobs & bosses cant have more then 1.000.000 exp?

Exp cap? Higher monster level = higher exp cap... I think.

Could easily be wrong, as I wouldn't want to play above 1x exp... but would happily play at .25% Exp. That may even out the "cheats" they introduced with "low level pets" and 2 inventory panes, increased carry weight and no penalty for damaged equipment.

Game was made way too easy after Pay2Play. :wink:

In many ways, it's easier to reduce the Exp:Level ratio, and keep the game at 1x Exp if you are just looking to level quicker. (I feel dirty)

Its not that the rates dont work at all but the number i put dont correspond with the actual exp..

That was my first feeling also, but when i changed the level of low level monsters nothing change with the exp.

Hmm I have to take look into that, never tried before...


Also i did some testing and i found something intresting..

i copied the Xetan monster.ini in my server files and renamed it to Hopy

Then i changed the xetan lines into hopy, so the correct monster will spawn.

With this copied Xetan file modified into hopy...... monsters can give 3.000.000 exp ( 17.000.000 gained exp ) instead of the 1.000.000(11.000.000) exp with the original file

After i found this i compared the xetan.ini with the hopy ini, and strange thing is that everything is the same except the stats ofc..

So after that i tried to give the original hopy file the exact same stats as xetan monster, but when i try to test this exp it gives - %

But when i use the xetan file they give 17 mil exp 0o

I lost track..

May be some border lines in Exp drop for higher level monsters in the Monster tables in game.exe and server executable then.
