Not bad at all for someone who is new, I like how you made it match with the gunz logo. I think it has a lot of potential.
Here we go:
1) Its unfinished, so you wont get any good points where to improve.
2) Green does not go well with brown.
3) Too much of a space waste on the sides of that Z logo.
Overall not too bad, but could be improved a bit (;
The only reason I'm using teal is that it's one of the only complimentary colors that go with brown. It's just to lean away from monochromaticity. I could also try pale yellow/brown or purple/brown.
As for the space next to the Z logo, I might place some buttons there.
Styx is taking a step into my domain again?
Well here we go.
First let me state to you that attempting a decent grunge style template as your first design is a bit of a bad move. To create a good standard on a grunge template is hard even for more advanced designers. As well as this you are trying to add to much grunge into your design rather than a balance between clean and grunge.
Logo,
The logo is currently to large and over powers the design it self. You need to think about sizing at all times making sure than no one element of your design is noticeably larger.
Text Colour,
Green is a bad idea unless you know how to properly match colours. A good idea would be to not use web font for headers for this style due to there jagged edges. Next you have attempted to add depth to the text with a black shadow. Never use a black shadow unless your on a dark grey or black body other wise it will become to noticable. Try to use a darker green, this will still give you depth but it will not look out of place. Another option is to pick a colour from the body and make it slightly darker. This will make your text look like it is sitting inside the body and will work better.
Text Sizing,
As I stated before always be thinking about your sizes. This is in regard to every aspect of your template. From the logo to shadows to text also. If you do not your template no matter how well made will look wrong and will become an eyesore.
Colours,
Try to match colours from your template. Do not create a black body inside a white background if nothing else will match it. This is the same for your user input boxes. The grey currently does not work well with the rest of the template and stands to much out of the body it is sitting on. A good idea is to blend your body into the boxes. What I mean by this is slowly merge the colors near to where the boxs will sit to give the impression they are actually part of the body.
[Send me the psd via pm and I will do a quick revamp to show you to make it easier for you to work off.]
Looks pretty good so far.
You really dont need to worry about that styx.
Im not exactly a clean photoshop user any way so I will be fine with an un organized one.
Too grungy for my liking. And change the colour of the green text.
Although, I think its good for ur 1st.
looks pretty interface-ish, doesn't it?
I wouldn't know. I still need to find the right balance of clean and grunge.
