Problems with PW Downgrader for client 1.4.3 Origins

well i have 2 big problems:

The first one is: when i use the downgrader works perfect and edit the client, but when i seee the server folder inside the downgrader folder, the folder is empty, so there are no files to add to the server.

The second one is: When i try to start the elementclient.exe the client give a error in strange characters and it closes automatically, i try all the advises that the forum has but there are no case.

Plz someone can help me or teach me how to repair this, im new in the pw development and i want to start to learn but almost al the guides are so generalized that dont have specific info about the client editing so im little troubled trying to edit my client.

1. looks like they been removed or server ate them(seen svn`s do that)

2. most times them are due to a corrupt pck or missing pck file.If its missing files in most are put out to logs then and if a few configs are off display readable in client errors.

i find another 1.4.2 client patched and all, but the problem is the same with the origind downgraded version, in the userdata/server/ forled there are no serverlist.txt, so i cant edit the ip of the server.

plz someone help me T_T

ether download the complete thing or look in the SVN listing I also posted for the files you need.

(could be done in windows notepad even)

file type: unicode

format:
server name <tab> port:ip.address <tab> server number

example:
Private server <tab> 29000:192.168.1.51 <tab> 1

i coppied the file from the other instalation that it work and the exe doesnt take it

now im trying to use a client from a pw free server but the client dont have this file

im triying to understand how can i edit the connectation ip but nothing works

as i see now, only the 1.3.6 vertion of the client needs the txt in userdata/server, the 1.4.2 vertion dont need it

sorry rare I get on MSN I swap between 6 OS`s to much to stay on vent or MSN.

"your pw folder"\element\userdata\server\server.txt should be where you put it and copy and paste this (then alter the IP and keep the file structure)

file was moved in later versions(/patcher/server I do believe)
from what it sounds like you are using another servers client and they put the file in the exe or in another place(pck file is possible). If thats the case your out of luck without more programing know how.

i wanted firs to use the origins client, but i cant because the serverfiles that dont support it, so i wanted to make a 1.4.2 client but when i downgrade the origins client to rising tide client the client gives errors when i try to start it.

i hope i someone make a serverfiles with the tideborn working, as i see there are no serverfiles with them working

and I bet your using ronny`s scripts? if so your missing files it will delete some as its written for 1.4.2 to downgrade to 1.3.6(are server files max version level).
best try client off here or start at 1.4.2 v4xx
tideborn is working just not skills and the characters because it involves a massive amount of server side work(maybe the least worked on part for all devs)

all server files max 1.3.6 client. PWD is 1.4.2 to 1.3.6 conversation only.
1.4.3+ you convert to 1.3.6 to use with server files or use files off the forums.

because the conversion corrupted the files in the pck`s or pck`s also could be is missing files

/gamed/config/ is where maps go but you cant just drop client maps in there is many things server side that is not client like NPC.data

is possable but months to years of work depending on language.

i have a client from a server that is in vertion 1.4.2 and it works a lot

Its just a renamed versionit is possible to alter client version display

Ok youi that client dont use the converter from PWD as they are already converted to run with are server files how ever you would have to change many things to sync server to client(like matching server and client side elements.data things like this. use a elements version changer off the forums here to change them files to 1.3.6 then convert server side.I can go for days and days on what could be altered or needs altered.

way to many to list pull apart a Spanish client would be a huge short-cut

Your looking to do more advanced dev work your best to start from step one and build basic learn workings and files then start on your dream client. Some of us been working months or years on are`s.

jeje i understand it ddnu, thats because im a developer, i work in almost 25 different games.

the problem is that i have a tideborn 1.4.2 client from other comunity and as i see i know why they dont use the serverlist.txt.

because they compile they own elementclient.exe with vc++ 6


i only want to know some thing because i want to make a perfect client, and as we know perfection takes time.

now i will work with the 1.3.6 client but i want to make a good 1.4.2 client

im using the 1.4.2 server files posted in this forum so i wanted to use them at 100%.

i only wanted to know how can i use the 1.4.2 client and how to traslate, but in some way i find more info in client than in forum xD

This forum is lack of good guides for ned people in developing, i want to know if someone can make a section for guides in other languages.

well as i see in config.pck are the language files so i will try to traslate it

PW Free was design to their own, if you wan to use it, you must get rid elementclient.exe and use from PWD, then change your serverlist.txt
