pwAdmin error.

OK for starters i had everything working great and live on the net. i used the VBOX Image PW 1.3.6. with 1.4.2 V 283 items by Ronny1982

i think i screwed up somewere i went to update the pwAdmin and it was working but i couldnt access the characters page so i deleted the folder and re added it.... NOW i cant even get to the 192.168.0.10:8080/pwAdmin anymore lol.

anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Ok I have run into a similar error due to updating my pc that my test server was on.....Luckily I coppied my PWServer folder in my db using my remote access to the db the night before.....I fixed the issue by replacing the jetty folder in my db with the copy that was working and now my pwAdmin pannel works fine.

heres how you fix it i had this along time ago and found out myself

download the pwdb.sql at the bottom of this reply, and upload it to the server, set the servers "tables.xml" file where it says
127.0.0.1/dbo
to
127.0.0.1/pw
then change your pwadmin's database to go to the database pw
instead of dbo and change your reg page to pw instead of dbo cause the old dbo script doesnt have "roles" or other tables in it thats why pwadmin cant read it.

i know this works and if you dont understand how to fix it ill gladly help further.

awesome thanks all ive actually just re imported the normal server cuz i seem to have a few problems with the update on the new pwAdmin but ill check out what youve shared softsoldier, everything worked fine but couldnt view characters (openjdk-6-jre)or whatever its called apparantly has problems or something but everything else worked fine. if anyone is interested in checking it out or wanting to help with some stuff that would be cool "First time building and running"

if you already have a downgraded client you can check it out by adding

29000:privatepw.gameserve.com to your servers list (gshop from vbox havent changed it yet)

and you can register at http://perfectworld.burnsfast.com (crappy site less then 20 mins worth of work) + 30 mins to upload and run the vbox

if your running ubuntu or debian you can do
apt-get install openjdk-6-jre
but again if your using dbo.sql for your server, like the old dbo.sql then it will not let you view the characters page on pwadmin.

thanks it only took about 5 minutes to build, and ya on my ubuntu i cant use apt-get install openjdk-6-jre my sourcelist is missing some files, so thats why i havent been able to downgrade to openjdk-5-jre which apparantly will show the characters, and im not sure were the dbo is lol.

other then that next thing to do is get the game update and installer working for ppl to download.

if anyone has any ideas or any programs that can help with this, please let me know thanks.

pwadmin's character tab is a must have for a public server. only takes about 30 mins to rebuild a server completely with beasties files
and the pwdb.sql script to import it where you imported the dbo.sql script in phpmyadmin.

is there a way to copy the user accounts and characters, and put them on another server

because when i built the 1.4.6 server which is just under the VBOX tutorial i didnt have any characters but i liked that one cuz it had the latest pwAdmin on it and everything

Not to bash anyone else's release, because mine would not have been possible without everyones effort here on the boards, but I did strive to make my release a very comprehensive release. My release can be used in any fashion you desire (in a virtual machine, or installed on a physical server machine of it's own)...

sure i wouldnt mind giving it a try, the more i work with the more experienced i get, went from not knowing linux at all to knowing a lot in just a few days lol. i originally ran the server on ubuntu desktop, worked GREAT, always nice being able to edit files without having to use winSCP can be slow sometimes. and backing stuff up is easy directly from ubuntu desktop (nice not having to use terminal all the time)
other then that linux rocks lol might make my main pc like that and run and play pw and the same time lol

heh, you should see my release 343 xD thats a massively long guide that takes without the 2 hours of reading, 30 mins to set up and configure.

You should check out mine, not including installing linux (figuring a person should know AT LEAST how to do THAT lol); I would say mine takes 5 minutes to set up, and have fully running (with a guide hardly needed because I have scripts that will all short of wipe your butt LOL) ;)

It's a very comprehensive release, it is ALL my work for the past 2~3 years !!!

Complete server, complete website, newest pwAdmin (and all the newest tools from ronny) all the tools that I use to work on the server and or client...

I've done a lot over the years, just a few examples; fixing the tomes/heaven books; adding all the NPCs and MOBs for the questline 'wraiths ploy' (for the chrono key)

the actual clients are all 1.3.6 -- any reference to 1.4.2 just means it's a 1.3.6 client that contains 1.4.2 infos/datas...

in all technicality the server we have is 1.2.6 the latest client we can use is based off CN 1.3.6; that is our limitation with the server being as old as it is...

the dev tools ISO I have available are all the tools I currently use to dev/mod for PW ;)

well I know my server.rar is good, you may want to download again... make sure you got a good DL... ofc don't forget you need part 1 & 2 or it wont extract

presuming you're downloading on a Windblowz based system, shut the system completely down for a minute, then power back up; and re-download (if you haven't done so already)

I actually was having file integrity issues quite a ways back (which is why I tested this release so thoroughly prior to releasing) and for the most part I found out it certainly had something to do with windows and apparently caching shit! I don't even know for sure, I don't like windows; but I do know a while back no matter what drive I would copy a certain file to etc... It would copy,,, corrupt... I then rebooted, still would copy corrupt. I then full power off, power cycle; copy, and it THEN finally copied flawlessly...

So... I do know for a fact my .rar is solid. If there is a problem it lies either in my upload and/or your downloads; and if I'm not mistaken other people have downloaded the server ISO without problem. So you may want to attempt a full power cycle and see if that helps...

alright i restarted and im gonna try again :) i powered it off last night and just turned it on so its been off for 12 hours. ill let you guys know if it works :grr: lol

Yea, sorry you have to DL it so many times. That's really the only thing I can think of, and I am not too familiar with any windows or hardware caching that could cause that; other than it apparently did to me (cuz like I said I was having file integrity issues, and I finally pinpointed it to doing a hard cold restart / power cycle) ...

Part 1 rar file on disk says 571 MB (599,003,136 bytes)

Part 2 rar file on disk says 498 MB (523,075,584 bytes)

is that what the files should be sized

...sadly enough I think it is a faulty upload, I've now received complaint number two that the rar for server_root.iso fails crc ; re-uploading immediately !
