[Question] Best lenses for a DSLR (Canon T3i)?

By default, it comes with the Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS II lens.

But I was wondering if this was a good lens, or if there is a better one.

I'm going on vacation to Spain in the beginning of April, and I would like to know if this lens would do the job for basic photography of buildings, scenery, etc, or would there be a better option.

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to this stuff.

The standard 18 - 55 is a really good lens. For basic stuff it is brill, definatly all you would need for a hol ;)
