I may simply be unlucky..
But I have found the existence of facebook to have assisted in ruining many relationships.
I currently don't talk to multiple members of my immediate family, facebook contact has been involved.
I have lost friends, facebook has been involved.
My own young family was almost split up because of people posting without thinking.
My question to you is,
Have you found facebook to make your relationships better, or worse?

I voted yes? It made my relationships better lol (that may be facebook's purpose? I mean, Facebook is the only place where you can get 1000 friends).
I had near 1200 'friends' on facebook in 2009.
- Most I couldn't tell from a bar of soap.
I had near 400 'friends' on facebook in 2010.
- Keeping only people I had met before.
I had near 30 'friends' on facebook in 2011.
- I deleted all but very close friends and family.
I have now deactivated my facebook.
Not so much Facebook in general, but social networking such as MSN, Facebook etc. I believe it removes all confidence people have. I'm sure most people would agree with me when I say that it's easier to tell someone you like/love them over Facebook than it is in person and thats what annoys me. I want to be able to tell someone I love them right from the heart rather than in 8 letters over a text. A great example of this happened to me recently. Theres this girl I've liked for a while who I've seen around school and stuff, but we've never actually talked in person. I've known her for about 8 months, but we've not actually shared a proper conversation, other than the occasional "hi! :):".
As for the contact aspect of Facebook, I believe its a great alternative to talking to someone. I suppose if you're the clingy type and love to talk to your other half 24/7 then yes, it certainly is a great form of contact.

The reason they always want to talk, is because they have confidence and the resources (MSN/Facebook/AIM etc) to constantly talk. I'm sure if they weren't to have social networking they wouldn't speak to you half as much in person.

It's not just easy to say you like/love someone..
it is just as easy to say you hate someone.
I think the issue with social networking, is when you post something about anything;
everyone has an opinion.. and most of those opinions are not backed up by knowing details of the situation, but are just thoughtless comments..
which may actually affect the posters decision/thoughts..
Not knowing the strength of the comment/question is lost over the internet also.
Oh, the involvement of others is a whole new story in the world of relationships!
The internet in general is a place where most communication is shortened. Emails are not cool, neither are forums, or when they use them, most of their messages are short and they bitch at people like myself for actually writing something with substance.
Then there are places like FB where everyone has friends, even the sad kid in South Park and of course then there is the worst invention ever... Twitter. Let's put every little detail of your boring life on a site filled with complete useless short messages.
People need to actually get involved in meaningful conversation.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against sites like FB (read the 'like' part, since FB is a huge craphole when it comes to privacy), however it needs to be used in a proper way. I mean I'm on a similar Dutch only site (it still has more Dutch users then FB has) and I only use it for stuff like my photographs, some music I like and stuff like that. The last message on my 'wall' equivalent was 1,5 month ago, the fifth last message was half a year ago. I simply don't use it, if I want to communicate with people I talk to them in person etc.
This is not to say I don't use the internet to communicate, I mean I do it here on RZ, I do it over Skype and I got a few people (really a few) who I talk with over MSN, though I do talk to them outside of MSN as well.
Facebook got me sex.
And.. Where's neutral choice like "Facebook got nothing to do with my relationship.." ? Facebook is not almighty, its just there, to write random shit (;

Facebook has nothing to do with relationships, unless you're liking other people's pictures to 'flirt' which is quite sad if you do.
Its simple.
If your family believe's everything which is posted on Facebook about you, then they obviously dont trust you, and what is a relationship with out trust?
