Did you check the option menu >> sounds, I think the client config.xml is preconfiged to be muted.
Be more pacific, if that isn't he issue are you talking about taunting sounds, gun sounds ect.

did you use mp3's in ur bgm.mrs?

if so, hex edit the runnable.

Download a hex editor

search for .ogg

Replace .ogg with .mp3

If your talking about taunt , cry etc.
