Help me upgrade my computer

Dell XPS 400 Desktop Computer Review - Desktops - CNET Reviews
That my computer, for the love me I couldn't seem to find the computer on dells website nor could I locate the serial number on the thing.
Processor: Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80 GHZ, 2793 Mhz, 2 core, 2 logical processor
All I've changed on it is the video card and some ram, at the moment it has about
Total Physical Memory : 3.50GB
Available Physical Memory: 2.14 GB
Installed Physical Memory(RAM): 4.50 GB
I haven't cleaned the computer in a while so I'm sure after that I'll have more open room.
As for the video card it is an ATI Radeon HD 4350.
Note: I got this computer I would say maybe 3-4 years ago and I admit I am no genius on computers. The main purpose would be gaming
Re: Help me upgrade my computer
Why do you have 4.5GB of RAM? x32 Windows only reads 3.5GB of RAM, so a whole 1GB of your RAM isn't even being used.
Now what exactly do you want us to give you? Do you want upgrades for this PC? A new PC build? What is your total budget?

Budget is max 1000$ if possible. I'll be getting a 64 bit soon, just got a free copy of 34 bit so used it without thinking.
Pretty much just a new build if possible, I was just stating what I have now to show what I have now I guess.
Sorry for being unclear

The best build for that price:
ASRock P67 Extreme4 LGA 1155, Intel P67
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3 GHz Quad-Core, 6 MB L3 Cache
G.Skill Ripjaws 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) DDR3-1333
Gigabyte Radeon HD 6950 2 GB GDDR5
G.Skill Phoenix Pro 60GB SSD
Asus DRW-24B1ST 24x DVD Burner
Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650 W
Add in a case of your choice and that should just be around the $1,000 mark.

We've seen the extent of your technical knowledge. I don't think you're in a position to be giving any advice to anyone.
Re: Help me upgrade my computer
Scrap it all together. Dell builds are next to useless for upgrading, and they put so many limits on their mobos. I just recently salvaged a couple thinks from my dell, bought a new mobo and case and then just scraped the rest. I get so much more performance out of the same processor and graphics card I had in my dell.
You really don't need to spend $1000 on a new build. In my opinion thats really overkill. If you're gaming you should make your rig budget at $500 and spend the other half on a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Use a headset instead of spending the money on a decent set of speakers and a sub.
Unless you already have a good setup, then by all means spend it on a beast SLI setup.

Eh, i guess it depends. My philosophy has always been that if you're going to start a new build, then make it worthwhile and make sure it gives some pretty huge performance gains, otherwise i don't really see the point.
It does depend on circumstances and what you want out of your PC of course.
Re: Help me upgrade my computer
you can build your own pc better and alot cheaper, you just need to know what you are doing.
use tigerdirect or newegg
