Newbie with questions

So I am planning up a runescape private server for me and my friends to waste time with over the weekend but it will be over LAN so no internet connection at all. I am just wonder how this will affect this (minimal I would assume due to my experience with minecraft server hosting)

So is there anywhere the explains the terminology/jargon?
Also how do I choose which server/client thingy/s? I am looking for a more updated version of runescape with construction and all that good stuff.
How do I set one up?

Literally for the basis of just starting one up, go to the tutorial section and read a tutorial about it? That'll pretty much answer your questions, I mean we have the section there for a reason.

Well you tell me what you're having trouble with and I'll attempt to help, I can't say there's much jargon in rs servers... I don't think.

I figured mostly everything out except for a errors which have no apparent effect.
I can login but I cannot create accounts. Is the main problem everything else is due to what I am using to the best of knowledge (archery not working)
