Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
What is Decora?
Decora is a visual UI editor for CABAL Online. It allows you to redesign the entire user interface using intuitive controls. It also supports all known Western UI formats (EP2 through EP5, Asian clients not supported).
How do I use Decora?
Start by clicking the left-most button in the toolbar and selecting your ui.dat.
http://i54.tinypic.com/2z7gc1u.png
Then, select the desired scene from the drop-down list on the far right side of the toolbar.
http://i52.tinypic.com/bg1e03.png
The selected scene will now appear in the canvas area of the main window.
http://i54.tinypic.com/2rm429x.png
You can select a control in the scene by simply clicking on it. A golden border surrounds your current selection. If you move your mouse to the edges of the control, you can resize the control. You can also use your mouse to position the control. Do this by holding the left mouse button on the control, then dragging your mouse to the desired location.
Click the "Properties" tab on the right-hand side of the window. This will bring up a pane that contains information about the currently-selected control.
http://i54.tinypic.com/qrewpl.png
From here, you can tweak advanced properties of the scene's controls, or select a control from the "Controls" drop-down list. This is handy for those controls that don't have images, so aren't clickable with your mouse.
Click the "Texture List Editor" button in the toolbar on the main window. It is the third button from the left.
http://i52.tinypic.com/2e1umuu.png
This window lets you change the names of the textures that are to be used for the UI. You can even add new textures here.
Click the "Image Bit Editor" button in the toolbar on the main window. It can be found next to the "Texture List Editor" button.
http://i51.tinypic.com/3534mrd.png
This window lets you change all the image sections that can be used as images for controls. You can add new "image bits" by clicking the "+" button next to the drop-down list on the right.
Click the "Text Editor" button in the toolbar on the main window. It is the right-most button.
http://i52.tinypic.com/j6raly.png
This window lets you change all of the text that can be displayed on a control. *NOT FINISHED*
Is Decora free?
Ofcourse it is. I program as a hobby. For me, this is fun, and I really can't see myself making money from something I enjoy :P
What does "Decora" mean?
It comes from the latin word "decore", meaning "beauty". It symbolises the desire to make things our own that most of us have, and to make those things look beautiful.
Who wrote Decora?
Me.
All by yourself?
Yes. However, I use NAudio for audio processing, and WPFSoundVisualizationLib for some eyecandy (check the About window to see what I mean :))
Can I have the source code for Decora?
Details for obtaining both source code and precompiled binaries can be found on Decora's new redmine: http://thedivinityproject.com/redmine/projects/decora
What do I need to run Decora?
- .Net Framework 4.0
- Windows Vista (unconfirmed) or Windows 7 (x86 or x64)
- Desktop resolution greater than 1024x768
Where can I download Decora?
You can download precompiled binaries for Decora from the Files page on its redmine: http://thedivinityproject.com/redmin...s/decora/files
Happy modding!
** Changelog **
Code:
02/05/2011
* Initial Release
04/05/2011
* Fixed crash when saving after adding a texture (thanks to allocen for bringing this issue to my attention). It was an issue with texture metadata not being generated for new textures.
* Most toolbar buttons, the scene selector, and the properties tab are now disabled until you open a UI file. This will help prevent confusion and crashes caused by attempting to save non-existant data.
* All controls in the properties pane are disabled while no scene control is selected.
18/05/2011
* Decora is now open-source! It is licensed under GPLv3.
* Fixed a bug that was corrupting the ui.dat when saving (textures were being saved with incorrect dimensions). Thanks again to allocen for bringing this to my attention.

I don't know if you're being serious or not. If you are, then why should I add an exit button? o.O You have a perfectly good X button on every window you open.

I am using windows 7 32bit wit installed .net 4.0

re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Its not from Decora, its from ui.dat i had me too a few scenes which didin`t work.
-
re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Just to let everyone know, there's an issue with the latest version. In order to fix it properly (so that Decora renders scenes exactly how CABAL renders them), I would need to wait for a hotfix for WPF. However, I will skip rendering it properly and stick with the current rendering code. I'll have a fix later today.

re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Decora is now open-source. Source code and binaries can be found here: Decora - Overview - The Divinity Project Redmine

Note: This project among with other projects released by Yamachi are not part of The Divnity Project release chain. They are the results of Yamachi's hard work.

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Okay, I had the same issue some of you are having with the whole "Stopped responding" thing, then it would just crash. I had downloaded the framework, run the codec register .bat file, and nothing, despite the confirmation.
Well, as Yamachi's readme says:
"1. Run CODEC/register_codec.bat as Administrator."
Obviously, it has to be run as administrator. The system SAYS that they registered, but clearly they havent if it still isnt working.
Then the obvious issue of right-clicking>Run as Administrator making you start in the system32 directory occurs.
Well, i took the non-lazy route and just ran the command prompt as Administrator, "cd"ed to the location, and ran the commands in the .bat file to register it manually that way. Worked perfectly.
Although, you can probably just as easily run as admin, cd to the directory, and run the .bat file thru the command prompt as opposed to running the separate commands XD Neither take long though.
Hope it helps!

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
try this:
right click on the reg file, properties, set compatibility mode to xp sp3 but do not check the RUN AS ADMIN.
execute the reg file but again DO NOT RUN AS ADMIN - just double click.
it's how i did it successfully, hope this works on you too.

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
The thedivinityproject.com domain name expired and I don't have the funds to renew it atm. I will move it over to ownztheinter.net, but it will take some time as I have to set a lot of stuff up. In the meantime, you can download Decora from here: http://ownztheinter.net/files/110523...ra_23-05-11.7z

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Might want to renew that before you lose it lol.

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Was about to say I could renew it for you or something but since you don't care anyways, whatever I guess. :p
-
Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
I'd have no objections to that. lol
-
Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Would've sent you the cash in paypal or something. :p
Anyways, when I try to save with this (even without actually editing anything) the program immediately crashes. Any ideas?
Edit-
/facepalm, ui.dat was set to read only. You should implement an exception handler for that. :P
-
Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Yeah, the program is still unfinished. The text editor doesn't actually allow you to edit the text yet, either :P Also, I made a typo in my last post ¬_¬

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Haha, didn't even notice.
Are we able to directly edit the .dds files in photoshop? Really only asking because I don't have it installed right now.
-
Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
You can edit them with Photoshop or The GIMP, provided that you have the appropriate plug-ins. I personally prefer The GIMP. Anyways, I'm gonna go ahead and set up a bitbucket repository for Decora's source code tomorrow or something.

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Oh, nice. Are you still actively developing it/cabal at all or what?
-
Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
I've not worked on Decora for a long time. I occasionally do things for CABAL when I have the time.

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Quick question, exactly which files are edited when you change nothing but text coloring?
A future feature would be to have a log of what files are updated so we can include these in our updates. Even better, copy the files to a _modified folder even. Just a thought, would be very useful and wouldn't require much code modification unless only a few files are updated anyway.

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
ui.dat is the file that contains text colour.

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Repo is up here now: https://bitbucket.org/FauxBestaan/decora
I may work on it when I have the time. The main thing that stopped me from finishing the text editor is the fact that the file format changed several times between versions. I can find a solution, though.

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Quick question: Can this work for Vietnamese cabal clients ?
Tell me how ?

Re: Decora - CABAL Online UI Painter
Mr pukeface i wouldn't need to post here if you were online more often on MSN/Skype but anyways.
Is there anyway to control the inactive/hover/active effect on buttons?
I've made this:
http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/2...0623021900.jpg
By fooling around with this i've found out that the inventory tabs follow a N+1 pattern in which first image bit is inactive, 2nd image bit is hover and the 3rd one is active(i.e. Image #1234 = Inactive, Image #1235 = Hover, Image #1236 = Active), but couldn't find a pattern for the Equip/Pet buttons or any other buttons.
I was trying to make the UI with textures from scratches, because there's an image bit cap, but it didn't work as expected ;<
