Question about 3d modeling and DDS
Hey guys, been a while since I posted here, but I've come back into 3d Modeling as a beginner, and I have a question.
When creating your own models, how would one "make up" their own DDS for it, when you just created the .obj from, say, Cinema4d?
I was told this was a method of 'unwrapping', but I've searched that (Yes, I've searched) and found nothing. This has probably been answered before, but if you could redirect me to the thread, it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, in this DDS, if it's self generated, is there a special method, or position certain things have to be in? Thanks.
Re: Question about 3d modeling and DDS
You have to do the UV wrapping.. If you know anything about Cinema 4D you should know where to start..
I suggest 3DS Max, it has alot more features and is easier to manage

I'm actually beginner, as I stated in the first post. I found a tutorial on something unrelated, and found out how to get the UV layer showing the .dds file in blender. The problem is, when I edit the model, the whole dds file disappears. I have access to Autodesk, cinema4d, blender, and photoshop. Would anyone care to tell me if I need to remake the dds entirely? Or am I missing something here?
