Nice first try, but that doesn't quite make it out as vector at whole.
He probably doesnt even know what a vector is and he probably used a pic and just traced it.
You can trace the object with the pen tool on Adobe Photoshop (I think you knew that already ^^), and work your way up from there.
It's still a vector in that direction.
Do you mean tracing by brushing/smudging?
i did this using the pen tool and as a matter of fact i know what vector means so piss off and die.
