Hi.
How do I edit Res-Tex/objectinfo.inf properly
Thanks
Hm. Res editor ?
okay.
So we all know that we have to speak english here >.<
But where is the answer to the question which is asked on the first post?
You can edit the objectinfo.inf file with the Res-X editor. But what you get is a .bin file which cannot be opened by paint, gimp etc....
If you edit the objectinfo.inf with a Editor, Notpad++ or with a hex editor and you just try to duplicate a existing entry with edited item IDs. The edited file wont be opened by the Res-X editor again... It says something like "Item name cannot be NULL"
But I realy don´t know how to fix that. How can the item ID be NULL if I simply duplicated the entry and changed the IDX of it?
And if the Res-X editor can´t open it, I guess the Client can´t either...
Is there anyone who has a little bit knowledge of, how to edit the objectinfo.inf file?
I´d realy appreciate it :)
All right, the hex editor can edit or view files objectinfo.inf, effectinfo.inf. Extract the two files from any objectinfo.inf, with Res-X editor. Carefully analyzes the structure, and you'll understand how to do it. You can add items from the hex editor (eg HxD, or any available)
Good luck.
Sorry for asking but, Will I understand the structures from the exported files (which are in the objectinfo.inf and effectinfo.inf files) or from the file strings in the hex editor?
Do you suggest me to export all the date from the objectinfo.inf with the Res-X editor?
Thx for your help btw. :)
I offered to export only 2 files (accidentally) for analysis.
To analyze, look at that structure already exporting, and the structure of the whole file. Find the beginning and end of the file as a whole file. So you can understand how to create it all. In the same way created from client files, files dat, for the server (build of three parts in the hex editor)
Thoughts, Compare, created on the basis of existing ones.
Good luck
Im wondering, assume i told you the format of packed files, now what would you do with it? Manually edit using a hex editor? Cause that sounds like a bad idea to me...
Well you are right PanKJ. Valdemarus method is not working for me. I try to copy from the endbit of the last item in the objectinfo file to the end of the item I wanted to copy, and I pasted it after the end bit of the just copied thing. After that I changed the IDX for a item which I´ve created.
But if I try to open the objectinfo.inf file with the Res-X editor now, it says something like: "ERROR: Item Name Cannot Be NULL". And I don´t think my game can read the file if the Res-X edtior can´t do this :/
I was searching for the post of you where you told us the format of packed files. But with no success actually :/ (Searched for "format of packed files")
Does someone or you PanKJ have the link to that post? Because I really want to know the format of this file!
Thx again for your help guys :)
You do not want to understand, and therefore does not work.)
There is a lot of great programmers, write them in the PM, agreed, and they will write to you a tool. Accordingly, you will have to pay for this tool.
Isn't there already a .inf tool floating around..? I think i even included it in my old AR mods installer.
Oops I hope I didn't say too much.
Well I´d may appreciate a tool which can add new entry's to the objectinfo.inf and effectinfo.inf files, and creates a new, fully functional, effectinfo.inf or objectinfo.inf!
@gigabyte: is that program maybe the objectinfo patcher? I´ve already seen this file. But I think again... it can only edit existing entries in the objectinfo.inf file. And can´t create some new ones :/
FutureAR not take a genius, that would create new features for the game (even when manually editing files).)
Someone tell me how to extract quest.tex? I can pack. But I can not extract)
use the search function Valdemarus!
There must be a way to edit this!
Sorry but I have to write in this thread again!
I don´t want to pay 300 Euros for something which is maybe floating around already and for something, PanKJ already developed a format!
I was still searching through your threads PanKJ and I only find the format of the .sma files!
@Valdemarus I think you´ve never edited the objectinfo.inf file because I´ve already tried that with Res-X Editor, Hex-Editor, objectinfopatcher, Notepad++ and at least Atum Zipper! Atum Zipper cannot repack all those files and ends up at the 999th entrie (if I remember properly).
The Rex-X editor can only replace files.
Duplicated entries using Hex-Editor don´t work.
The objectinfopatcher can only replace files.
Editing it with Notepad++ also failed.
I think we shouldn´t pay for just anything here. We should help together to get more and more knowledge of those Ace Online files!
So even try to help me a little guys! THANKS
Yes thats what I´ve meant.
Did you ask me if I have something you need? We could check.
I would appreciate it if everyone helps everyone here and not just some guys who know everything to one side and on the other side guys who are interested to develop things but don´t know some necessary fractions to do that!
Look for where you made a mistake. I edited, and I have all works. Notepad++, I have not used, only HxD.
I was a programmer, I think there is no problem to write software for this purpose.Another thing SMA files. Here it is necessary to know not only the programming.)
I will add, for what would be the expression of this forum are interested in writing software provided is not enough that you want to buy it, you need a lot of people who need and willing to pay. Otherwise, it is not profitable. For obvious reasons..
It is necessary to pay for the work. Whatever one may say, and the ass from behind)
Use Res editor ?
