Complete Endless Ages Server

Not too terribly many people know much about Endless Ages however it is an incredibly fun game and I would love to see how it fairs in the private server world.

As I own this game and all it entails there is no legal risk of running this. I simply do not have the time or resources to run it.

I dont have a guide written up on how to set everything up but I would say our more advanced users here will be able to get it going =)

My apologies. SERVER-EA.rar is a miss uploaded file and was supposed to be a combined archive of SERVER.rar and SERVER-Data.rar

Anyway game seems interesting and seems to have some kind of following but I think it needs a major overhaul to be become successful.
Seeing as you off all people releases something, it's probably not that profitable.

Nah, just decided it might be better for the game if it was released to the private server world. The game is damn fun to play I just have no time to run it for people.

Is it possible to update graphics?

Yes, you can actually import new higher poly textures, animations, etc via the Engine Tools =)

And webfiles? is complet or only for register?

Web files are included inside the WEB folder in the archive.

It includes the following:

1. Server Management Web: Website to control the Endless Ages Server, Account/Character management, Map/World Management, Server Status, Stop/Start Server, etc -- Much more.

2. Account Creation Web: Creates accounts.

3. Content Management Web: Web that is integrated with the server/patch/client to allow automatic updates.

4. Web Shop: Simple webshop that allows purchasing of "credits" which can be spent on game items.

All in the archives.

What I can tell you is that you need Windows 2003 server (64 bit works too) at least 2GB memory for running it and you need to adjust the connection data inside of server files, database and webs. Then also you must create 1 SQL Account as SA called: DMESERVER with password testing2008. Then 1 microsoft loopback adapter with IP: 10.13.132.194 so patcher web is able to connect to the DB. There is also other accounts which you can find in the web folders.

I'll make a more appropriate guide just as soon as I have more time.

This is an awesome contribution; thanks a lot BoTGoD. I hope someone does something meaningful with it.

But connection of webfiles to BD is in windows autentication? i found in web.config in folder trading-post username and password to BD. but in WEBTOOLS, WEBMANAGEMENT and ea-register dont have files to change password and username for connection with BD. And another question, the server as started by webtools?

Mmmm -- ASP.NET 2.0/1.0 (if on 64 bit Windows need to run IIS in 32 bit mode)

Bot, to compile source is necessary visual studio complete? or compile in express? in my 2010 express don´t compile, have errors.

You need Visual Studio 2005 SP1, Direct X SDK August 2008 and add LIB folder to the project for compiling.

I think I got the DMServer and password put into sql but it looks like there should be a user DMEWEB as well whats the password for it and what databases should it have access to so far I belive I got DMESERVER set to both databases EARevolution and ServerNode I have tryed to start some of the webservices's but I keep geting I belive Database errors as well anyway thanks for the help so far

Guess there is still no guide. Well I have been struggling getting it set up but I sure am getting somewhere. Really hard when you have to figure it all out on your own, at least for me.

ok well im working on all the files now i have them on my other os i just need to get them trasfered over to my 64bit windoows and ill will start on the server stuff monday and tuesday ill let u all know what i have so far

It's just server files, database, engine tools and some other stuff...no source code. The few people working on this don't know how to configure it to run on a server. The only one who's come close is LordKill and he seems to have given up.

if you think half of the screenys and work that people put into it doesnt say anything new, go find somewhere else to be

if you are patient and wait, he may share the completed product with everyone, and why would someone give details on partial work, if i was working on soemthing i wouldnt want to share something half done

if he shares the steps that he took to get where he is atm, he would be flooded with question on what is next, when he finished im sure he will release it

I haven't established full contact with Blaster, although I do have a secret acomplise I am working with. He hasn't talked to me about the server for a few months.

I think its safe to say I will have a server up in a couple weeks, not me but I will share everything on my site - PM me for link to site! :thumbup:


I will also share a tip for you guys who don't know anything about ea.

Rewrite all the files in order for the server to operate properly!

this might take a little longer then I thought I hope not but it might it looks like there is something diff from a vmware ea server to a dedicated server I will get it up asap I tryed to msg Jason but no reply when I hear from him I will ask him about this prob and so what I need to do to fix it I will be up asap

Download www.eacentral.com/ea-setup.exe < Install that into your x86 folder if your running 64-bit.

Then Download www.eacentral.com/ENDLESS.exe < PLACE or COPY that into your Endless Ages Directory.

Run the launcher, make SURE you have the correct installation directory for your launcher - Play :D

Is there anywhere else I can grab the server files from? It seems the Endless Ages site is currently down.

BTW, I'm excited to see that it's now open source - I played EA way back, I even have the physical box somewhere in my room. Thanks!

There is only the server files, no Source Code. The only Open Source involved is the Launcher, which isn't much.

You should come join our server and play EA instead of hosting a server. It's not as easy as it looks and we don't really need more than 1 server up, unless you just want to use it for self-enjoyment and not a public release. The playerbase is already poorly low on our server as it is, 2 just wouldn't make sense.

you might need some files like the sound folder and some others but many of us are playing it again now.

the new host is going to try to make it a free to play server

if you have problems with the installer not completing ... get the one from the official site when it stalls ... just close it .. then go to fileplanet and get the ea-core and download it ... copy the files from the GAMEFOLDER to the new ea game ... then it will patch right up .. I just played tonight with a new friend....

if you need the sound files you can just search endlessages sound files and download them or I will send them to you on aim or msn ..

This website is currently unavailable. Hostmonster = Domain Expired. BTW The ea server sucks, I nearly maxed out a frog and a blob. With a whole clan being devs and all... Heh. Its boring. I have no hopes for ea.

The server owner and his buddies are a bunch of pikers. There hasn't been even one person playing the game in the last couple weeks, obviously nobody can stand the way they were running it. Good riddance.

100% Truth.

Jason had free web hosting for endlessages.com. The reason the site got taken down is because Serrene let Impact run it and he abused it. Jason may have had his faults, but at least he knew how to moderate a website without pissing everyone off.

I decided to get back on the server... Its gotten better, but there are no players at all now.

Also HostMonster in no shape or form is FREE. Jason's domains are all gone.. All the way from BOTGOD.NET to Endlessages.com
Impact didn't run that forum, he was a global mod/mod that secretly ruined peoples forum profile on both EAC and EA.com.

You're mistaken, Jason never used Hostmonster. He had a friend like Serrene who owned rack space and gave him free hosting for the website but charged more for the game. Once people quit paying for EA Jason couldn't afford it.

The good news is I live in Kansas City and I will have Google Fiber soon. With 1GB download and upload speeds I'll compete with any hosting services on the planet with a minimal hardware investment. I expect Jason will be only too happy to set up EA when I offer him awesome speeds on my servers.
