average download speed?

Hey RZ,
Whats the average download speed?

Today i saw that my utorrent was downloading 917 KB/s.
I never had this speed, but idk if it is fast, or slow?

Depends on the file size my speedtest.net is 19.84mb/s and my upload is 12.77 mb/s on a laptop with fios internet so, all depends on the computer what your using and what you are downloading there is no set average unless you give us more info.

I speed test at about 32-41 mb/s
I pay for 12
I My dls top at about 3 but get atleast 2 MB down :D

Paying for 120/10 so I'm pretty happy. Usually get the full 120 during the night.

I find speedtest results to be rather useless as you don't ever get even close on common downloads, if I just go by my torrents/steam/everything else I usually average 5mb/s if it's a good host/amount of seeds.

When i DL straight from Microshit I've seen it hit 10mb/s but yeah I don't DL from microshit often.

I think you miss understand how it all works. Speed tests are pretty much dead on correct. Take Alfons download result for an example.

Now there are 8 bits in a byte is there not?

Convert the kb back to mb.

So if Alfons downloaded a large file from a server with a ping of 10ms from him. He would cap out his download speed at 12.63mb per second.

That's about the speed of basic cable internet. I have roadrunner and my cap is 1.2mb/s down.

Fuck me I'm jealous... the only form of broadband I can get in my area is Wireless Mobile, using 4G [as I live in deep countrysides here in Ireland], with top speed being 400kb/s on downloads :|

It also depends where your downloading from.
