very boxy. it's been modeled many times before too. try looking at other models and imitate what the creators did to them.

mmh, just decompile some model.mrs and you're good to go. i'll show you some later, i'll pm you in a bit.

This has been modeled before, and not as boxy.

Try smoothing out the edges, and lowering the vert count on it :D Keep going!

There is always a 'First shotgun' and it will always be blocky.
Nice first tho

First of all, stop tracing and simply extruding the surface.
Remake the parts as they look like/image the shape of the parts.
BUT keep the verts down.
For cylinders use max 10 verts per ring.
Dont make too many edge loops either.
Place atleast the muzzle flash dummy so the fire effect isnt at x0y0z0 and blinds you when shooting.
UV Unwrap youre Model correctly.
Get a actual texture and NOT sideview screenshots like any other idiot does.
If there is none, create one.
Only if nothing you tried looks good use a screenshot.
Adjust the uv map to hide that fact as good as possible.
And the last thing, dont overscale weapons, that looks just stupid.

Open the Elu in a Hex Editor and check the Texture Name.

Its just what i said ?! ...
Open youre favorite hex editor.
Click on file -> open -> select this elu.
On the ascii side youll find at the very top 2 times the texture name.
Make sure that it matches youre images name.

I think the boxxyness gives it the look it needs, but it would look better if it wasn't, nice try though! 7/10

But I would like to have a saying.

For a first timer, you did pretty good. First attempt: 8/10

Although, I didn't model like this when I started to Develop stuff. Keep going. Also you can ask me if you want to do really awesome stuff in Blender, hotkeys and such.
