Partially, not to mention depending on the what model of Focus you've got his BMW will probably out perform it but probably still be on the road by the time yours has been written off or scrapped.

yeah, 323i's top speed and acceleration is about 230kmph/7s when brand new, regular focus's with 1.6 engine is 190kmph/9s, which in the end matters alot, because top speed on australian highways is 130 and you rarely see anyone drive over 190kmph even in germany, where it's unlimited

few differences are that his bmw would eat twice as much petrol than focus and that I'd be much more likely to break since it has most likely got twice more kms driven and is 9 years older.. and yeah, that its parts are more expensive

not to mention that if you give even the regular focus just a little bit bigger rims, it's pretty good looking as well(this one's with basic rims)

Is there something wrong with you? They aren't even in the same league. There is a reason why BMWs are very expensive, German engineering.

Personally I'd have gone for a newer model, but it just shows how good BMWs are that you can get one from 99' and it's still working great.

I'm trying to compare 13 years old car with 3 years old one, of course there is no comparing 08 M3 with whichever focus

The E46 M3 has the most beautiful design that bmw has ever released imo.

E90 looks better imo..

The e90 has a cool shape in general but the tail lights don't look as good as the e46's to me and for some reason the curved shape on the front of the car doesn't sit too well with me. In addition to this I don't like the design of the lights on the front for some reason and I don't like that companies like mercedes are starting to follow suit. They remind me of opel's (vauxhall) headlights which I'm don't like but not as much as the mercedes below.

However, the front of the e90 and the head light design isn't too bad I think it's the curvy shape in the front that I don't really like. But what puts me off the most is mostly the tail light design when compared to the e46.

say what, that orange one is 2.5L turbocharged(which is more efficient than supercharged btw) with 230hp(from stock, without any kits), top speed of 245kmph and 0-100 acceleration in 6 seconds, yes I think it's pretty much comparable with your bmw which has probably lost quite a few horse powers over those 13 years :wink:

FYI, the Ford focus RS500 produces 345HP/257KW and can do 0-62 mph in 5.4 seconds. The mass-produced standard RS model has about 20KW less but still smashes @ 21PSI of boost.

Not only will a Ford Focus RS beat your E46 in a race, it will do so with only 5 cylinders.

You can get 2.5L 323 in a decent condition for $7k, then again, his is supposedly super pimped with supercharger and stuff, so don't know really.

my car cost $11k, which is a good price for that car -stock- in Australia.

A Focus RS is ~$55k.

A normal ford focus which can be bought for a price comparable to my car is in no way similar to that focus you are talking about.

It's cheaper but not always as cheap as you think after taxes, then again a Cadillac if you really want one will be around £40k. Abroad they can be bought for around £25k, go figure. Some crazy bargains and money to be made for importing cars, just look at the UK Jap import market..
