All I'll tell you is, we're not as great as some countries would like to believe.
Well, the television programmes make you think different, they tell you that it is the land of opportunity and the life is good and the weather is always brilliant. That every state has hardly any crime, that the country is the best in the world, yet if you ask an American citizen himself/herself, you would find they say different. The salaries may be a little higher, but you will find that the cost of living also goes higher. America is a nice place, surely but if you want to make this step, are your family living with you? If not, would they get the money to visit you? You have to think about these things before you make massive decisions like you are about to make.
I know you probably want to move there, just to see what it's like and "live the life" but think about all this before you make the big decision. Make the right choice, if you have a family ask if they want you to move, it will help you decide which is the best for you. You see all these people in jobs, who are quite well off and you'd think the salaries are higher there, but some people have good jobs over there, and you might not get the best job avaliable.
For sporters it seems as a great country. I don't know much else...never been outside scandinavian.
It is the land of dreams, just make sure you land in Florida or California. Most people come over to the USA and end up in some tiny town where everything is shitty. Then they complain how USA sucks. If you do plan on coming to America make sure you have your cards right, because it is a tough place. Salaries work on a scale based on where you live. Cost of living also is based on where you live, obviously if you live across from a casino on the vegas strip then its going to cost $1,000+ per night. I would just recommend doing your homework and make sure you got everything figured out before you get here. Where will you be staying, how many nights can you afford, how much will food be costing, and all that stuff. To make the long story short, your quality of life is based on your salary. If you got a good job with good pay, you can do so many things, and have so many nice things here. But without money, life sucks.
i want to go and work there a couple of months and if it is possible to stay there and make a life there.
americaaaaaaa
sucks atm
Well, America is exaggerated on the TV to a certain extent, however, from relatives that have visited America, I've heard it's pretty nice in places. However, America is 17.4 trillion USD in debt. Once the world's currency isn't the dollar, America may become very different
You say that you only want to be there for a few months to see what it is like. You will have to save money to go and live there firstly, and then keep some money saved for when you come back. The unemployment rate over there is different to the British, but that doesn't mean you will be guaranteed a job. As well, not many companies will be interested because as you stated, you are only staying for a few months, which won't guarantee you a job either.
I am a Norwegian, super-rich social democracy where government give you everything for free. I've been in the US twice. I love the place. Hope to move there when I grow up. Everybody I know who has studied there love it too. Everybody loves the US... Except the Americans who dig into the "the US is not that great"-hype of the US media. It is a lie. The US is greatest country on Earth.
ITT: Do not ask Americans if US is good. They think US is bad. They have never seen the rest of the World. I notice you are from Romania, and that country's gotten a lot better the last few years, but it is not USA yet.
USA's freedoms are pretty awesome compared to some countries, but our politicians refuse to agree on anything, our economy sucks right now, and our countries debt is immense. Personally I'm dissatisfied with some of the stuff our government does, but it's an awesome place to be
*Oh noes he such a mean guy to Islam, must go make lame off-topic flames in other thread*
Living in the US all your life and never getting any real outside perspective is not better.
+ this
There are no countries where politicans agree, US economy is best in the World and the debt, in % of GDP, is not good but not too bad either in comparison with other countries. It is better than all the countries in Western Europe.

Americans are so hysteric.
Only idiots who believe in fairy tales want to live in the United States.
Go live in Africa and see if you still believe that. You are all like spoiled children.
lol true that dan, but to the first question what is your job, and what area are you looking to work in?
Care to explain how? I would think someone who has lived somewhere their entire life would know if a country really is as great as other people say it is. That's like saying an English person wouldn't agree that it rains a lot in the UK. Or a Japanese person wouldn't think their country sees a lot of hurricanes/tsunamis. Or an Indian wouldn't agree women have next to no rights in their country.
You got nothing to compare with.
If an Englishman had not grown up hearing that it rains a lot in England compared to other places, he'd probably say it did not rain much in England.
In the same way, Americans grow up on the myth that everyone outside the US believes living in the US is great, but it really isn't. We don't. In Europe, media constantly talks about how shitty America is.
Protip: 40 year old guys that live alone are usually not the kind of person one wants to be.
Unless you're going through a mid-life crisis. Anyway, USA has a big difference between the United Kingdom, the whole country is in debt that we all doubt will ever get paid off, not only that but it is exaggerated in some films and advertisements. You don't always have a nice life when you're there. Also, lest we forget that the phrase 'Everything is bigger in Texas' is true, but they also have a bigger amount of idiots. (if you are from TX, no offence)
