Ok so,



I need a in depth guide or list of steps as to how to make it so my friends can play on it

I know there are plenty of guides out there but not specifically for vbox, nor this image, so I need help
plus people who post guides usually use words or terms that im unfamiliar with seeing as though I am a noob, so I need hillbilly instructions D:

like for example,

you say

"You need to port foward" , Dont explain to me what it is, just tell me how to do it, or what I need to go to to get to it to do it or whatever o.o

Yet when I type in http://192.168.0.10:8080/pwAdmin/

I get the problem loading page thing.


If I port forward it does it it change the pw admin link?

Just curious, but are you sure you are using port 8080. I know it sounds trivial but you never know.

Step 1: Forget everything you ever read about Virtualbox networking

Step 2: read my post above and setup your VM

Step 3: LAN IP of the host machine or 127.0.0.1 if using the same machine.

Step 4: Tada it works

Overly complicated solutions to simple problems is what causes issues.

So uh,

this is what I have in there right now

so I change the host ips to 127.0.0.1?

if I change it to 127.0.0.1 wont I have to change the ip in server lists,

also if people outside of my network wanna connect what ip do I tell them to have in server lists?
also if I change those to 127.0.0.1 wont I have to type something different to get to Pw Admin and Iweb?

No, that limit there is only 127.0.0.1 in my screenshot because I only wanted that specific machine to access any of those. Remove everything from that column and leave blank unless the host machine is bound to 192.168.0.10 (which is what you are telling it to limit to, it won't port forward unless the request came in from a nic that is bound to 192.168.0.10)

Your computers LAN IP has nothing to do with Virtualbox, the host (the only virtualbox is running on) is your computer (unless you are running a VM inside a VM inside a VM, but then you get some serious shit)

So again, the Host IP column is for the Host Machine, the Guest IP column is for The VM itself

It even says that right in the picture in my post

So I just undo those columns and leave them blank, then pull up pw admin with http://192.168.0.10:8080/pwAdmin/
and just give the people who wanna connect the client I use to connect and everything should be fine? o.o



#Update#

Okay I took out the ips in the Host column , started up tomcat etc

and I cant access it from http://192.168.0.10:8080/pwAdmin/

I removed the host only adapter, should I re add it?

other than that idk what else may be preventing me from gettin to pw admin

WinSCP cant connect to it either



the only things I have done are:


tried to port forward with my router, gave up, undid those settings

then did the vbox port fowarding , to find out I shouldnt have filled in the host ip
erased it

disabled host only adapter in control panel

uninstalled it under preferences

chaned it to PCnet-Fast III Am somethin o.o

changed it to NAT

with my mac address being the one hrace said to put in there

so with all that done



Why isnt Pw admin loading,

im gonna try re enabling the host only adapter

Im thinking that this server image wasent programmed to go live but somehow Supra got it working so wtf is going on here.

Ive got all the stuff configured correctly, what im trying to say is that I cannot access pw admin now. Can you just team view me since youve got more knowledge on me on this subject than I do

I'm using the Hrace release too and it works fine for me.

Bridged Adapter != Host-Only Adapter

Bridged means it takes advantage of the rather nifty ability for a single NIC to bind to more then one IP address on the same network...
