Trade centers (9/11)

Okay it's 10 years today from the time when trade center towers collapsed.
At the time when it happened I didn't care of it cause wasnt of age to do so.

Anyway, now I look at footages of towers collapsing. And I don't get it.

Two are two gigantic buildings. And something simple like a plane makes it go down.
Even if plane did cause the collapse, why did it collapse straight down, not to a side.

Try it yourself, build a structure with a bricks or whatever.
Hit it on side, and it will collapse sideways.
Build again and take one level out or collapse bricks in center.
It will go straight down.

Back to towers. Plane hit on side yet tower collapsed straight down.

Say what you want, but you don't need to be an architect to understand it.

It's really not that simple... I did a huge report on the conspiracy of 9/11 and I was on the conspirators side. It wasn't very believable because every possible conspiracy was debunked. It's been done before in the Debate section.

You still don't sound old enough to understand it. A Boeing 767 is not a "simple plane"...

they did have reports of several explosions after the planes hit the building, one of the reports states that they heard explosions an hour after the planes hit the towers

The real mystery are building 7 and that plane that "crashed" before attempting to reach its intended target.

There is lots on thoughts that it was the government's planned it. Also that the two towers had also been messed with, look into this more, sir. You'll see there is smoke coming out on one of the ends as the tower was falling.

And there was a footage where there's a smoke that is shaped as a skull, I believe it was the first plane crashed.

Yes it's a huge plane. Flew on it twice.

Tower just simply eats the plane.

The only way it could collapse like that if plane would go through one floor causing top floors to collapse down on lower floors. Yet building collapses few minutes after

And form video it looks like it goes pretty far in but for some reason the explosion is on the other side.

I will not say that there are no conspiracies involved but I will just tell you something about the building.

All buildings are engineered to collapse straight down so that in case of an earthquake or instability, they do so flat causing the least amount of damage and if you ask me, that is exactly what happened when the planes crashed in to the twin towers..

This is ofcourse if you were to believe that it is because of the planes that the buildings well.. It'll let you worry your head about the rest.

Part of the reason the buildings collapsed like they did was because the heat expanded the steel in the truss in all directions. As a result they also expanded into the columns. The trusses/floor system, sagged in the middle because the columns were preventing the trusses from expanding in their direction. That led to the bowing of the exterior columns.

Okay. Makes sense, big city, if it collapses sideways other buildings are efed.

So building was built to collapse down if shit happens. Plane hit it and went through floor. Because of explosion, heat expanded steal thus causing building to collapse.

But yet thinking, plane carried fuel, since it went through half o floor and exploded wouldn't it cause building to collapse within few seconds?

Just for the sake of it, if I ever get enough money, I swear I will build one tower and crash empty 767 into it (empty tower, far far away).

It didn't take long. They collapsed quite fast actually. The burning fuel melted the steel and caused floor to collapse one after another.

From what I heard, the towers collapsed on the inside before giving way on the outside of the structures, making it appear like all the damage was done in a few minutes

This huge weight above the impact doesn't just float. It falls. This increasing weight due to the the falling causes the building to basically collapse upon itself.

That is exactly it.

The plane basically vaporized those 2 or 3 floors that it hit, which then left the top of the building to free-fall for several meters at a very fast speed with alot of weight before landing on top of molten steel. That is what collapsed the towers straight down - An enormous force pushing the entire building directly downwards towards the ground.

Build a Jenga tower, then drop a 5lb encyclopedia from 1 meter directly ontop of it. The tower doesn't fall sideways or anything, it collapses downwards. It won't be an exact replica because there is no heat and the weight ratios aren't the same so the Jenga blocks aren't melting and being crushed at the same time... But you get a good idea of what went down (pun intended).

It's like putting an empty Coke can on the floor and jumping on it.

That's what I was kinda referring in my first post. But.

There is no way plane can take out full floor/level yet it can take out half of it. In Jenga if you take half of block, it collapses sideways.

Before the steel could melt and collapse, I would expect building to at least lean one way. Yet it was built to collapse straight down.

So far I understand what you guys are saying and agree now that yes it could collapse down.

But I would love to know the technique name, or design or whatever, that makes building collapse straight down.
