Today you took a "shower" with what? This post makes no sense to me.
sorry, maybe I spoke badly.
As I mentioned I took a bath, was saying that while he was in the pool house I thought it would be possible to edit the elements so that when an item is forged he has time to expire.
Sorry again if I spoke badly.
I've looked into item expire times and know a tad how they work...
You can set an item to expire from GSHOP (and it will automatically assign the correct expiretime values)... You can also manually set expiretime values in pwAdmin/XML as well. However, I noticed that quests apparently cannot assign expiretime values (supply stash items that normally have an expire value on PWi don't function properly in that manner on our outdated version)... So my guess would be you would not be able to have anything 'forged' "come with an expire time" either =\

hasduhasduhsdauhasduh, that was funny, lol
I searched everything related to items in the elements, and I couldn't find any row related to expiration time. I guess that can only be done with quests and gshop.
also looked at the elements, even in their lines all, thanks for trying to help over 343
If it is a few special items, it is possible to give em for time. Difficult, but possible.
I am sure someone mentioned before that Ko2 PW has this fixed from items that drop, maybe ask their devs how they done it? Possibly be a section on the actual item?
In Jade Dynasty,(similar game) the time limit works in the gshop, and tasks, I've learned from Jade Dynasty, not sure about Perfect World that the time limit does not work past 30 days or it will bug your server.
Maybe this will help you! :)
Is it possible to list a quest ID on JD that does this so we can compare?
JD Database - Perfect World Quests Database
Not sure if you want the actual coding, So i posted a link to the quest.
If you want the task editor pic I ca post one and show you the details of it, I didn't really understand your message is all.
PW has quests that give items temporarily, but it does not work in our version. The quest of the post had a flight of seven days, strangely does not work. Or use the converter that records the necessary or not really does not work. I also noticed that xml is referring to expire date / time of purchase of the item in gshop and not a standard countdown.
I've noticed the 'timer' reward on quests for our version don't work as well, based off of any of the 'timed' 'rewards' from supply stash (as previously mentioned). I never fully examined GSHOP. All I knew was the 'timer' does work (based off of time of purchase) for gshop...
I wonder if there's not a way to make it work with quests though thinking about it again...
all the 'expiretime' value is, is this: Epoch Converter - Unix Timestamp Converter
Very good site, really like gshop value is generated, the only way to really know if work is to try to work with the original task to get all your parameters, I believe the editor of ronny has limitations on quests other than the default.
It is easy for oldfag dev, but impossible for newfag leacher, so i can share my way to do it))
We need give to player some weapon for 3 hours for example.
A. We will use:
1. Weapon Fist*
2. Some locked room in arena (there are rooms at top and bottom).
3. Quest for time.
B. Step by step:
1. Player activates quest, which gives him a Fist*
2. After that automatically activates new quest, which requires Fist* to be finished and with 3 hour limit (ingame time, offline dont takes time!).
3. If player hide items in bank or wear it, they cannot be taken by qouest, we must force player to take off that items.
4. If he takes it off and quest completes, he gets 1 exp and spirit points, losts that item.
5. If he insist on using that item, quest fails... but if it fails, he get teleported to that room in arena.
6. Trigger in arena reactivates that quest again, but this time with 30 second limit.
7. In that room we must place Banker, if he hided item in bank.
What we have:
Player gets item.
After some time quest takes it back.
If he hide item in bank or wear it, we force him to place it back to inventory by teleporting him to locked room every 30 seconds after time ends.
I go farther, activate a KIT Quest to enter the map, I have maps on my server 'world' of up when the player comes up to receive the items, to lose out. (I do not remember if this function is available).
Like it or not is totally impractical as much work to depend on the style of your server.
Not only that but it would be rather simple to control whether a character could only do it once ever, or once a day, etc... via tasks :D Though it would all work, it seems a little tedious though too... Like the time limited flyer you get from supply stash, would certainly not be worth all this type of 'trouble' to go through just to make it timed...
Thats why i said to use it for something rare and expensive.
Thanks I'll take a look into it.
Thats a good method to do it, I am creating an event patch for my server and well one of the events has only 1 big winner and then mini-prizes for everyone else who took part and basically the event is Activated by a GM people play and the winner is announced which then the winner goes to a GM and the GM uses a web feature and adds the item through mail to the character with a 7 day timer then when the event is about to start again next week there will be a new winner etc but this is all manual and I would love to do it so its automatic so this subject is very interesting to me.
Im too much lazy, so thats why i spent all the day to make all the stuff in my little art project automated.
It gives me and gms free time. And players dont need to wait gms to be online.
