City of Heroes

City of Heroes looks like a very strange MMORPG. I was thinking about buying the game and paying the monthly fee. But for those who have tried the beta/full game and/or own the full game and play it, I would like to know what you think of it. This poll is only for people who have tried the game and are willing to share their own personal opinions about it.

The reason why I dont read reviews for games is because they always make every game seem worse then it really is.

I played it and i think a few others did.Its a fun game bc your making your own hero and giving it the powers you want. The big let down of the game is that #1 it has no armor in the game which suks, #2 It takes very long to get to max lvl On CoH forums they say we make it so it takes an average player to get lvl 50 in 6months to a year, and #3 some missions are long and it gets repetitive. So if you wanna try it out go for it im thinking of just going back for the last month of summer but i dunno matters how things turn up for me.

It was alot easier to level during the winter event.. when there was a bunch of giant snowmen... then again everyone would KS you for them...:eh:

I'd recommend CoV(City of Villans) when it comes out but CoH is worth playing,yeah theres no armor or weapons in it but thats outweighed on the size of the maps etc.Almost no one will look the same because of the amount of customisation from the creation screens.

i saw my friend play it, sure it is cool, but seemed so repetative.

i havent ever played it, so i had to choice the only option left :D

PS: you have gotta pay monthly fees right?

Yup monthly fees of course. But there is a free 14-day trial I believe. Or would RYL, Everquest II, Dungeons & Dragons Online, SUN or Auto Assault be the better pick? (Some of these games are "up coming" and not yet released.)

I am only willing to play games with the pre-paid card because I do not enjoy getting more bills.

i think the game was a big let down, because your supose to be a Super Hero , and yet a few badies can take you down so you have to group all the time. Which i think is kinda stupid, i wanna be my own Super Hero, not a Super Team. It makes you party for alot of the quests, and also some quests take a long time.

However, the character customization is just amazing, youll almost never see a single person that looks even near the same as anyone else. Also i like it cause theres no inventory, so you dont get overweight and all that b/s, you just pick up the currency and get a special powerup every once in a while.

It was fun for me for about a month, then i quit because it wasnt that fun. I would reconmend not getting it, and waiting for a better game, maybe D&D online, or EQ2 is good.

Everquest II sounds alot better from what I've heard. Played the first Everquest and it sucked major bawlz. It was a major disappointment. I thought it'd actually be somewhat good from what people said about it. Everquest II doesnt look much different, so I cant say much about it. I think I'll wait for D&D.

City of Heroes... No worth a dollar!

I didn't like it, but it's up to you.. How much is it now?

Its like 30$ to buy and 15$ a month. Its fun but very repetitive.. but then again what game isnt.

I bought this game online at NCsoft.... played it a half a month but I dont like it... everytime the same and nothing very special looking on your hero... but the cape looks nice..... I pre ordered Auto Assaut... I'll hope this game is something new :>

Yea if u go to the CoH forums it says we made the leveling like this so people will stay and it will take them about 6 months to 1 year to get a lvl 50 char.. wtf were they thinking.. everyone quits after the 2nd month bc its such a waste because you cant really enjoy it after lvl 20 because its so repetitive.

I played the trial. I had ALOT of fun, but it is quite annoying when all you got to do is press buttons :( Its more fun if you had to do some power combos to cause more damage

I have been playing COH for over a year now, sure 30$ for two months is bit much, but on a yearly purchase its nocked down to like 74 a month which is worth it if you like the game. now keep in mind this game is not really for your average kill everything that moves player, in my eyes it was geared more towards the people that enjoy roleplaying along with killing things. i have had alot of fun and meet lots of interesting people..if any one here plays feel free to add me to your global list @Buhda i play ostly on Virtue and have some diverse characters........also, CoV looks lke it is gunna be a hand fun. im so excited for it myself, have been waiting for this game for almost as long as i have been playing CoH.

I was looking at this the other day in GAME, £15 on offer with first month free (I'm in UK). Anyone know exactly what the cost is in £'s? and is there like a UK/European server or is it mixed? say for instance my freind in America plays. I would be on a different server? Thanks.

COH is actually a pretty good game, but it is just another MMORPG with a theme. If you get bored quickly with running to do missions that can get somewhat repetative, basically killing stuff over and over again, then this isn't the game for you. If you get tired of building a character, this isn't the game for you.

If you played Star Wars Galaxies, Final Fantasy Online, World of Warcraft, etc. and found them fun then you will like this game. The powers are fairly cool too. All in all, I liked it and actually played it for a few months extra. I would, however, prefer to play it for free.

becasue ive been in the beta this is whats BAD about it
1:Takes LONG TO LVL
2: No amor or such
3: No orgnail missions its just gose like kill 2 gang memebr then 5 then group then vip then kill the boss in cave thats all no story line..
4: some missions are way to hard to do alone so you need a party with useley takes hours to find >.<

THIS IS GOOD ABOUT THE GAME
1: NO LAG
2:Awsome Skills
3:Nice Grahpics
4:Nice ppl and gamemasters..

Well I have taken the liberty to buy a copy :thumbup: &#163;5 from ebay (&#163;5.15 to be exact w/ p&p). It has the 1 month with it so I can make my mind up and subscribe to a month, I guess it should be arriveing this week so im buzzing and waiting to get my copy :).

its a good game untill uve tried pretty much most of it. leveling is extremely boring and extreamly long. with the slowest lvling character (mind/emp) i stopped at lv 23 after an anoying 467 hours logged.(yes it does tell u). i dont recommend it, i dont really intend to renew my fee and try to see it COV will be any better. sure it looks sweet, but so did COH...and it sucked. VERY bad devs as well. they say stuff coming out "soon" and wen they say soon apprently it takes them at least a month after saying wat it is. why..they didnt even have PvP untill like a yr into the game. not only that but after releasing it it took them another 3-4 monthes to even get it up.


over all NOOOOO buy WoW or GW er somtin
