I have downloaded the q20 map files from coolgirlpwns & Estiger, added all files where they need to be, edited gs.conf and gsalias.conf, however it is not showing up in pwAdmin to start it. Is there somewhere else that I need to edit to get it to show up? Just a point in the right direction would be appreciated.

client crashing or server crashing?
If it's server then it could be bad configuration in gs.conf, or missing files. Make sure that u have all folders with proper files (airmap, map, movemap, watermap). You can even copy the missing files from for example a34 or a35.
If it's client then it can be missing litmodels...
...and even though it doesn't seem to be your problem right now, also remember (for the future) that right after you've added a map to the LISTS in 'serverctrl.jsp' (yes, don't forget to add it TWICE {once for PWi names and once for MY names}, it may not appear immediately in pwAdmin. If this is the case you need to recursively remove the directory 'work' (for tomcat anyway) (eg. rm -R /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.28/2/work)... ;)
Well it is server side that it is crashing. Basically what I did was copy the z9 entries, as I am using 343's newest release, and changed anywhere that it said z9 to q20 in gs.conf & gsalias.conf.

Ok, check your REGION CLT/SEV
My guess is your REGION is set to "VERSION 6"
This is NOT compatible with our version... Merely change this 6 to a 5 and re convert CLT => SEV and your map will no longer crash ;)
Ok have made several attempts to convert region.clt to sev and keep getting

but at least now that I saw your file (CLT) I know the problem.
Correctly so you changed the 6 => 5 , but the region [trans] zones are not in proper format, you must either remove these or 'fix' them to be in 'proper format'

lol, don't get me wrong I was going to accept the file after you fixed it, but was just making the statement that it would help in the future if I knew what was wrong and how to fix it.

Well I made adjustment where I assumed they needed to be, and still goes offline. Also tried with a blank region and it still happens, so gotta start looking elsewhere. Thanks for the help 343.

Oh, another thing. I decided to download this 'q20' myself now, I just noticed something else -- the NPCGEN does NOT match MY (releases) 'blank' NPCGEN... That could be possibly causing problems too!
Take my 'blank' NPCGEN (from /PWServer/gamed/config/emptys) and put it in there -- that may also fix it ;) :):
Ok apparently this map is not meant to run for me lol. I replaced the region from your post plus the blank npcgen and it still goes back offline. Just doesn't like me today.

Was something I hadn't worked with yet so I figured I would try my hand at it. If you get it working I would ask you to enlighten me if you could on what was wrong please.
I will try, often when working I don't keep any notes (on every detail of my 'work') I just dive in and 'work' (and keep any 'important' notes) :laugh:
Ok got it to stay up, needed to completely shut server down then bring back up.

I hadn't really planned one for OCT so if I do get this done look forward to either an OCT release 'update' or I'll just put it out 'early' when I finish this stuff with adding q20... ;) :):
New issue, I can't keep z9 and q20 on at the same time. Seems to be the only map that it is affecting. Also when I place myself at the beginning coords in that map it kicks me to Courage Path in World, so thinking I have a world id conflict somewhere. Trial and error here I go again.
for the courage path thing, you MUST log ALL the way OUT when placing yourself @ new coords (if not you'll wind up in courage path)Quote:
