GameSite template

I was making a gaming site template, But i dont even know why i was making it (just bored), So im just guna post it here. This is not finished, But part of the template i started i finished, Mostly small parts.

I was planning to make a real welcome page but i cba with this, I also have not paid any attention to hyper links, font styles ect. but i have changed hyper links for the menu. I dont think i put the css in the style sheet either o.0

If you wana finish this for yourself, Go ahead, Wana re-release go ahead but please give credits but tbh its nothing special just had nothing to do so do w.e u want idk. Just would hate to have completely wasted my time, Even if i get 1 download im happy.

Because there is SEO and SEO.

First one means searching for the right keywords, looking at competition, building backlinks, adding page to catalogues, eventually setting the right PPC campaigns.

The latter is coding the site right, in your example it would mean using <ul> for menu, putting the main content(#content), before the secondary content(#sidebar) in DOM, using <br/> to break only texts in paragraphs, rather than using it for designing purposes, putting css in a separete files, this all goes in hand with proper semantics and coding the site well.

And then again, I was just trying to help, and there is not a single word in the OP that I shouldn't post critique on how you code(this is coders paradise if you haven't noticed, by the way, not the portfolio), so either take my advices and learn from them, or fuck off and don't respond at all, but don't go all defensive.

Just because you dont understand i try my best to make it clearer "I was bored so i just opened Dreamweaver but iv got no use for this, So i stopped and instead of just deleting it i posted it here.

Also i have not used <br />(for design), And if i did its because of Dreamweaver, Do i look stupid? Also i could use <ul> what prob more reasonable to use but guess what? I didn't. Oh no ! end of the world !

I have, third time now, it says you've coded it, the base structure of it at least, you didn't bother with styling links, I get that, but the very base structure of it sucks ass, and so does your coding skills. I'm very much in that position, because I unlike you know how to code. You released it for people to finish it, that's great, but there is difference between final touches(aka. styling those links), and completely rewritting the very base of it, because yours sucks and is not done right. You released something that has crappy code, and that's why I wrote what I wrote, you have a lot to learn, get it? Starting to see the connection?

If you didn't want anyone to comment on your crappy code, you should have released it in the portfolio for people to code it themselves properly. Because the only thing that's somewhat useable on your release, is just the design itself.

And no, it's not the end of world, it's fine, everyone has to start somewhere, but using <div> for menu item is about as reasonable as using <tbody>. But dude, with your attitude, you won't make it far.

Yes im 15 and i make mistakes and i admit mistakes, When i need help i say i ask for help so if i make a template is it that hard to see i dont need help? Otherwise i would be posting in a help section.

Also each of those links are simple nothing special so what is your point...? Im not the best at design but i do know html + css 100% dont believe it then fuck off coz tbh idk if u believe me or not it does not effect me.

You don't else you

1. wouldn't be using div for menu items
2. wouldn't be using multiple IDs(there's only ONE allowed in DOM), now I'm talking about #menu_item and #sidebar_item
3. wouldn't be using classes(ids) on every single child element(talking about #menu_item and #sidebar_item again), but you'd rather do "#sidebar div" in css
4. wouldn't add secondary content(#sidebar), before the main content (#content) but rather margin-left the #sidebar
5. wouldn't use padding and margin on the element that has width and height set, because I'd know I will make mess in IE, but rather use matrioshka
6. would use H1 instead of H2 for the obvious reasons
7. you'd rather use margin 0px auto; for logo than trying to center it manually(it's not even centered by the way)
8. you'd rather use shorthand css because it's more efficient
9. you'd know that the way you made menu is stupid, because actually link is only at the text, not at the whole thing, making it confusing
10. you wouldn't use :hover on DIV because you'd know it won't work in IE
11. you'd make logo as an anchor with background image, because you'd know people actually click on logo to get to index(that's some A/B testing for you)

hell, there is so few lines of code yet it's full of errors, non standart compilant html and bad coding

I've told, my fulltime job is programmer and coder, I'm doing it for good 5 years now, I've done hunderds of websites, some of them priced around $20 000, I've shown you some of my latest references. How can you still say I should start talking about how much experience I have lol.

And each of those websites is something very very special, with thousands of lines of css, hundereds of lines of html and css, and is something you won't be able to do for good few years. Good tens of years if you continue with this attitude.

yeah, it is html and css, and you might know, you might know 10% of it, but hardly 100%, that's why I'm saying you don't know how to code html and css properly, and that's the reason why your code sucks, you are just too stuborn(or stupid) to admit it.
