Webdesign opinion

Hello,
Well I am actually a web developer but I wanted to try designing a website
So I made this website and would like your opinion on it please :P
I know its not really good but yea im more of a developer than a designer

Here is the PSD for anyone who would be interested

Too basic, huge buttons and the silver boxes don't look in place.

Is that Bevel? D:

I recommend NEVER using bevel as it will always look cheap and make stuff seem displaced, unless ure a wizard ;o

If I want a 3Dish effect I emulate the shadows and highlights through drop shadow and inner shadow, as well as glow. Or alternatively you can use a 3D software such as C4D, Blender or 3Dmax.

Don't be afraid of using bevel, you just have to know how to use it to make it look good.

Adler, that's sorta what dark meant about being a wizard =P lol

It doesn't take being a wizard to be good with bevel though. ;-;

The color scheme is a bit weird..
you have mostly dark mixed with some really bright spots
my eyes are very light sensitive and looking at the details of your screenshot for more than 5-10 seconds hurts my eyes

Just adjust the bevel a bit more and clean the edges and it'll look a lot nicer. Making the tables look glossier can also improve it as well. Other than that it looks nice. ;D

And make the text a bit more eye friendly, generally use things like Ariel so you don't have to squint to read the text :) And remember try not to mix to many font types otherwise it just starts getting ugly most of the time.
