The only difference is now countries can sue other countries easier.
And maintain copyrighted material across the seas better.

One thing that came to my mind was Martial Law, our rights are going to mean nothing in the near future. Fear, war and terror are great tools and have been used for many years if you scare people you can get them to accept pretty much anything if you offer a solution. Without the internet we'd all be fucked, the internet is used for SO many things all around the entire world, businesses, logs, data, Police Databases, etc. Honestly without the internet or some form of a network between 2 or more computers I don't think we'd be able to survive, there are too many vital things around the world that rely on either a Computer and/or the internet.
