[Ho-ly F*CK] Man falls 15,000 Ft. and lives
Well I was bored and decided to lookup Skydiving videos, one thing led to another and through recommended videos I found this video o.o
He falls 15,000 Ft. and lands in a Bush, his helmet cam captures it. How the fuck do you fall 15,000 Ft. and survive? I can't imagine what was going through his mind when he hit. (Although I'm 99.9999% he was probably unconscious lol)
After he hits you can hear him groaning. Just, amazing o.o

That site has a couple of the infamous WWII extreme Height survivors, I just read about them a couple days ago, some of those lucky SOB's fell from heights I swear the chances of survival would be like 0.0000000000000000000000000001% Now THAT'S what you call Cheating death.
Man who fell 18,000 Ft.

When he came to his senses and saw stars overhead, he lit a cigarette.
LOL BOSS.
For the original video though:
The video quality isn't that Good (that's expected since it's a Helmet cam) but after watching before he hits like a Million times you can see that he lands in a Rather... Fluffed and huge Blackberry Thicket, the bushes had to be at least 3-4 Ft. high. Between that and a Miracle I can see how he survived now but still O.O
I just don't get it though... The WTC North Tower stood only 1300 Ft, and as we all know that was 100% instant death, but how the Hell do other people fall from 10x that Height and survive... how on God's green Earth did they not instantly vaporize on impact?

You'll probably agree and you best had - Bombs were planted in them buildings and they were probably suffocating from the smoke that led the building to eventually collapse, I guess they were already half dead while down there and the pressure must of been too hard for them to handle so they instantly died on the scene.
I wouldn't of expected this guy to have survived after plunging 15,000 ft though, I would of thought he would have been dead instantly if not dead before he even hit the ground.

God the savior of life. Chose to love him. Blessed him.
Other Religious shit.
Basically, he's god damn lucky.

Seen too much of these impossibru survivers, so i'm not wondered about those anymore..

Re: [Ho-ly F*CK] Man falls 15,000 Ft. and lives (VIDEO)
Here's just an Est. scale of how high this guy fell. (According to what they say) Actually it's a couple hundred feet short of being how high he fell. (Click the image to enlarge to the original size)
Edit:
Ugh it's still blurry. Gay paint. Well, the height of 8 Twin Towers is just around 11,000 Ft. What the text at the bottom says is "Human size is about the size of this red pixel at this scale"
http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/f...pl07/Scale.png
I now don't believe any of those stories of people falling 15,000+ Ft. I can understand this one since he at least had a mangled Parachute slowing his decent a little, and it's like the only one that provides video footage, and he lands in a blanketed surface, but all the others, I refuse to believe it one single bit. Especially the one of the WWII fighter falling 22,000 Ft. That's just fucking impossible I don't care what anyone says. The speeds alone that you would reach would most likely be enough to kill you, not just knock you unconscious.
For reference:
They say that the WTC Jumpers (r.i.p) reached TV (Terminal Velocity) which is around 120 MPH. That's from the Height of 1 WTC, add 10 more onto that to Equal around 15,000 Ft.
120 MPH x 10 = 1,200 MPH
Calculating in a couple other factors you would reach a free-fall speed of around 900-1,000 MPH before impact...... I don't think any further explanation is needed. Scientifically, Mathematically, Statistically and Logically speaking your body would most likely literally vaporize upon impact at heights above anywhere from 10,000 Ft.+

Re: [Ho-ly F*CK] Man falls 15,000 Ft. and lives (VIDEO)
It doesn't matter how high you are, there's only a certain speed you can drop, and you won't drop any faster unless you move your body in a position to do so. Anyone just free falling like the above wouldn't fall nearly as fast as you claim.
You should have learned in grade school. All objects fall at the same rate unless forced to do otherwise by an external force. I.e Your self or something else.
The fastest falling speed recorded is about 615mph, and that guy jumped from a ridiculous height and he was forcing himself to do so. The fastest anyone who has no intention of falling fast to their death will achieve is probably about 200-240 mph. You won't go faster and faster unless your trying to, and I doubt anyone with a malfunctioned parachute will try such a feat. This guy was probably going less then 100.
But yes, I agree, no one falling at an un supported falling speed would live from that height. It doesn't matter what you land on you. Your going to die.
I'm not surprised at all this guy lived, because his parachute slowed him down DRASTICALLY compared to if he didn't have one at all, and those bushes were like average man height give or take. That factored in as well. I'm just surprised he wasn't unconscious.
That wasn't luck, that's science.

(Just wondering)
What's this supposed certain speed that you can't surpass while Freefalling? I'd like to know where you get this information from because if you are Freefalling in mid-air your speed will only increase. Even if you factor in Wind resistance you are falling in open air, whether you are in a Diving position or arms and legs spread out with your chest towards the Earth, the longer you fall, the faster you get going and the more velocity you have behind you. It's simple Physics, with time passing your body starts to gain kinetic energy and mass which would also attribute to increase in speed. (The heavier an object is the faster it will fall) There are no restrictions while freefalling besides Wind, and that wouldn't stop you at a certain speed it would just slow the rate of increase in speed while ultimately yes, you will continue to fall faster and faster.
But either way yeah I agree (not the dude in this thread) but the others should have died and I 100% believe they lied.

He wasn't unconsciousness - he was clearly talking, and watching his speedometer [or whatever they call it].
As to how he lived - 2 main factors, Drag off parachute... even though it wasn't fully deployed, and landing in a springy bush. Had he landed anywhere else, he'd have died.
One seriously lucky fella.

Re: [Ho-ly F*CK] Man falls 15,000 Ft. and lives
when you reach a certain speed of around 130 MPH the air resistance is so high that it keeps you from falling faster, basic physics
air resistance depends on how much air you push per second, and with increased speed you push more air, which is also why your car has hard time accelerating when you're driving fast, air resistance is huge at high speed

So the Air resistance is so much that it defies Gravity? Uh-uh. In order for you to stop accelerating at a "certain speed" the Air Resistance and Friction would have to have a greater force than the Gravity pulling you to Earth, and anyone who thinks that is possible has serious mental issues. When an object is in motion, it stays in motion until something stops it, not when an object is in motion the Gravity and Kinetic Energy is overcome by measly air resistance. How is it so hard to grasp the concept that once you are in motion with nothing restricting you that has a greater force than Gravity, you will only go faster you won't slow down, the only way you could reach a certain speed, like I said, is if the Air Resistance gathered a greater force than Gravity itself, and if that happened, at the moment it gathered a greater force it would blow you a Trillion miles back.
Anyways someone please lock this before it just turns into a huge argument thread.

Terminal velocity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
While wikipedia may not be the best source it still shows all the fundamentals.

You said that in order to stop accelerating you the air resistance would need to apply a greater force than gravity. This is incorrect. The force of the air resistance only needs to be equal to the force of gravity for you to have zero acceleration.

This is true. However at terminal velocity the object does not stop moving. Its velocity is constant. It only stops accelerating.

The faster you go the greater air resistance. This means the faster you go the greater the force opposing you. As the force opposing you is increasing your acceleration is going to slow down. Not your velocity.
When the force for of the air resistance reaches that of gravity you are in equilibrium. Your acceleration is zero. This also means that the force of air resistance will not be greater than the force of gravity unless you apply an external force so you can never free fall upwards or come to a complete halt midair.
So no this isn't crazy. It makes perfect sense to me. While I am surprised that they survived I am not going to be more surprised by someone falling from a greater height and surviving as they both would have reached terminal velocity.
