If you stay logged in just 10 minutes in any BR forum about PT, you'd get disgusted for sure.
I think you know my opinion regarding "mods" in PT. as long as they dont interfere in maps, player models I guess I'm just fine. But every "mod" (IDK if I can call it mod, anyways...) I saw in BR boards - seems like he's trying to bring them here also, please dont - are: awkard amor colors, ugly map modifications - thanks to sandurr and his briliant tool - and ugly weapons.
I am for sure loosing all my interest in this game I think. Its a awesome game, but please, dont make it shitty. I am speaking to "bocadecao" directly. Mixing MARIO and PT is completely ridiculous.
and dont come here saying, "ohh, I'm just trying to show my work". I am completely sick of this. go show your work in BR boards.
Thats why me and my friends shutted down that MIB trash. It was full of lazy people with no interest of learning, always wanting to be spoonfed. now, you guys made another board, that is becoming completely the same. thats why you cant move forward in PT development. And you will never move forward, if you dont stop with this nonsense. There are LOTS of stuff to do rather than change pikeman model to mario ¬¬.
Improve the graphic engine maybe? nah, too hard.. lemme see... maybe rename ptreg.rgx to something else? I bet you and your friends can do that!! :P:

Preserving PT is ridiculous. It's been the same way for so many years now regardless of the server. Who wants to play the same boring stuff over and over again? More random ideas such as implementing a Mario theme into PT can go a long way to making people want to play it again. That stands true with all of server development for other games too. If someone doesn't like the idea -- then don't play the server.
I dont like it. I am more the "oldshcool" guys.
I think it's OK, few good laughs. Nobody is seriously thinking about adding Mario to PT :)
If I would develop PT 3 than admins would have PT 1 models =P

"oldskool" in actual implementation. However a [development] is largely about experimentation not implementation. For example, we speak about implementing MIDI in-game music for PT. It's an interesting concept and fun to try... but if the end result is not great because of hardware MIDI differences and instrument rendering it will come to nothing except what was learned by trying.
It is fun to try to put Mario on PT, and doing so will teach you how to make other new PT models. You wouldn't actually release it in a PT server.
Another example I will share again was that AirBourn had a Glock for a GM Atlanta. It's a nice way for a GM to look hard wandering around killing monsters with a pistol... but I'm pretty sure the players couldn't use that weapon. XD It is not lore friendly.
