[Discussion] What do you think of Minecraft?

Like I mean, what do you think of Minecrafts development/graphics/gameplay etc.

Personally.. I think Notch or is basically copying most of the mods that have been published by players which is really stupid.. I think it needs a bit more originality.. I mean - Creative Mode & Flying? Thats basically a pre-installed mod into the game. :$ Not meaning to hate on the game.. Its just my personal opinion. :)
Though the one thing I do like is the Magic and how you pay EXP to make weapons and stuff better. That is awesome. (Its in Pre-Release 1.9) Also the EnderDragon... that is one sexy beast.

No if Minecraft turns into a game with people becoming wizards ect. I'm quitting. I see individual servers with that's fine but they can keep it there. I like minecraft cause I can Build simple block houses to advanced redstone systems. If I see any sort of exp I quit lmao.

And Notch copying no lmao if you look on minecraft forums you see developers are constantly trying to get there mods added to the official game. Creative Mode & Flying is an excellent idea cause some people don't like to search for there items just like to build which is like me.
My Opinion.

Well I guess you're right.. but you have to realize - there is an EXP system in Minecraft (after killing those mobs and stuff you get those EXP balls) And there are enchantments and Ender Dragon in the Beta Releases atm (1.9.6) so I kinda think he is [Notch] heading towards Magic and Wizardry and stuff like that :/

I think its getting messed up to be honest. Im staying on 1.8.1 so.

I'm staying on 1.8.1 too.

I think its become too overrated.

I personally don't really like the graphics.
It gives me a headache if I play it for some time.

I personally love Minecraft. :D I love just running around building stuff. Graphics aren't the best.. but graphics aren't everything. :)

I think Minecraft 1.0 is a flop, only good thing is zero bugs!

Minecraft is good as it is, people play it because of the simplicity of the gameplay adding things like magic and magicians would just make everything abnormal. Building things are the best part of it, not casting spells and killing evil wizards. I don't think the graphics are that bad in my opinion.

I used to like the simplicity of it. Now it got way too complicated.

the client GFX have way to high of system requirements for something that could run on an original Nintendo

i believe the creator should consider coding on a crappy box to make sure his requirements are droped

The server im sure needs high ram/hd/cpu due to the complexity of the buildings

Ide prefer if recoded for less ram more HD space to store the world info.

the gameplay currently has extreme potential however is currently pointless and lacking substance

I hope the modders and the dev can work together to improve that

Its what appears to be an online box of legos.
So thinking that way what does a kid do with there legos.....
they build stuff yes but thats just the start...
They then enact whole stories with there creations Build a world and have it attacked by an invading force ect... fail or win either or be banished from the world you made by invaders till you can build another army to retake ectt.. NPC's that can build also basic things homes defense structures mounts with weapons and armor plating..

So i guess moving parts would be cool to have

with some templates that can be npc controlled

I think Minecraft is a game with fun. It's oldskool, but that makes it awesome. But you're right, Notch is copyin' everything from the modifications. Like the monster eggs in the newest version, they are clones of monster spawners.

Notch needs to up his game with coding and Graphing.

Half of the chunks and areas are fucked up.

He needs to make more and more creatures and other gadgets,far as power and Blocks.
