Eh i've made a few of those "assembly" furniture items in my time... by the time you finish it and realize there's 10+ screws left over it's way too late. You seriously don't want to take the effort to back-track & take it apart to find where they belong.
All you can do is cross your fingers and hope the structural integrity isn't compromised :ott1:

I did that exact thing when i put my sister's bed together. I found out only at the end that i had used the wrong sized dowel the entire time... fuck it, that bed won't be rockin' for a few years, she'll be right!

The shelf thing has happened to me and Its still there after 3 year so I never fucked up to much.
When you left your java exercises from the first till the last day of the semester and you see aaaaalll that methods you got to learn before going to the exams that start in a week....
Sounds like it was probably Ikea pictures instructions. In which chase it'll break in a few weeks anyways.
