Looking for...

A shadowbane private server. I love the game, but refuse to pay the $15 a month they want for the buggy servers they host. If you're going to charge, it should be relatively bug free, right? Well, as such they lost my buisness. I still do love the game however, and the ONLY thing I have to go on about a private server is that someone found one on mmorpg.com by googling it, but at the same time, they couldn't reveal how they found it, and didn't reply to my PM.

Also, I'm looking for an Asheron's Call 1 server. Never played the game, but most people who played it say before they screwed around with a lot of the stuff it was a great game, so many there's a private server out there for it that's good? Anyways, god knows I've asked for both these types of servers before, but if anyone could give me some links, I'd appreciate it.

lol.. if your looking for a shadowbane private server for free it will be as bad as paying the 15 a month and having a buggy server.. cause the private server will have even more bugs..

Not neccisarily true. I've seen some private servers for games run MUCH better than the official. It really depends on the owner and coder of the server. Also, private servers tend to have less people. Less people tends to put less of a strain on the server (and code). As such some of the problems eliminate themselves.

Even if it is as buggy as official its saving $15 right? :D

i suggest you just use it for a coaster and find a better game thats not buggy as hell

Shadowbane is a nicely balanced PvP game with player cities. I fully enjoyed that part. I didn't enjoy some of the bugs, nor the lag, or the lack of official support for my video card. Funny thing is they supported older cards than mine :/ In any case, Asheron's Call would be a nice game to play too, on a private server, provided they banned bots, otherwise I may as well play on the official servers.

Anyways, if anyone knows an ACTIVE project to emulate either of these games, please let me know about that as well. I'd be glad to help out.

I'd be interested in finding one too. I followed the development of that game since my sophomore year in highschool and it looked like it had alot of potential....as far as paying $15 a month goes, screw that, its good booze money going to waste!
