Hey guys, i am trying to put a parent quest with only 2 subquests.... and it all works perfectly....
i want to know how to make it so that once they completed it the quest doesnt show anymore
i mean for example:
the quest asks me to kill 400 mobs, i finish it, it gives me the rewards and it doesnt show up ever again for that char

I had this problem when I had the ID of a quest set to high, I think the maximum ID number you can have is up to 32K before you run into problems. Also make sure the quest is set to normal.

After re-reading that post it does look that I never concluded for sure which field it was. Although, I greatly narrowed down the playing field for you :wink: :):
If I can find a really old copy of my release (which I am pretty sure I deleted all mine {takes up too much space}) before I made the fix I could draw a conclusion.
I know because at initial release I 'fixed' the final portion of the spiritual cultivation. When we re-visited that later one (a tester and myself) we discovered (not that it really did any harm, to me it just wasn't, "professional") that you could (at the 'proper' time) take the quest I made to go from 2nd to 3rd fairy over and over and over again (like I said, it didn't really do any harm; it just wasn't up to my perfectionist standards!) So I finally fixed it so that it could only be taken once in any given single characters "life"...
Only problem was the lost notes when I stopped keeping notes on shit =\ So I do not know/remember exactly which field it was/is...
Like I said though, I have it pretty well narrowed down to one of the 'switches' in the developer section of tasks.data. One of three to be more specific...

00-00-01-00 i put it to all the quests parent and subquests, maybe is how i set up the quests in the elements.data
still cant catch what quests i put into activate and receive... atm i put all in both and to take the quest and report works just this shitty crap of only once in a lifetime doesnt work

hmmm if u tell me the yours fixed i can figure out what u changed since i have one of your first release i looked at those unknown but nothing changed
when u have time would be great if you could post one of the spiritual cultivation with the fix so i look with my own and tell u the difference :)

I can also safely say that my quest in question has been added to the NPC's ACTIVATE list (not receive)...
I'm not 100% positive on Activate and Receive either. Though if I were to follow 'logic' (which who knows if the devs did :lol:) Activate would be the list that you would activate and receive would be a list that you could receive (ie after activating one)...

Oh yea, and also do not forget to UN-check 'repeatable' on the infos (first) page :wink:
However, I don't think that is all that must be done; If I recall correctly you must UN-check 'repeatable' and make the proper 'switch throw' in the dev sec.

also about the difference in elements.data with receive and activate quest i think its linked to the way you made your quest for example for the quests i made if i deleted either from activate or receive any quest it would say invalid mission... i think its kinda linked to the way your dialogs are made.
i could see if u have a parent quest that is ending it self at it without activating directly the subquest there is no need to call it in the receive while(its called only in the activate) the subquest goes only in the receive
the quests i made that open another subquests directly looks like need to be called in both the sections
p.s. if anyone knows more them me on this matter feel free to correct me :)

You can change that first 'octet' back to 00

Couldn't you just leave the Repeatable box on the Info tab unchecked? Has worked for me so far.
That in itself did not work for me, without adding 01 to 'octet' #2 of UNKNOWN_004
@CULO, could you please confirm (for you) whether just un-checking repeatable was enough for you. Or do you also have to change 00 => 01 in field 2 of UNKNOWN_004 to get that to work...
@CRX could you please verify that (since it 'seems' to be working for you to just un-check 'repeatable') that field 2 in UNKNOWN_004 is 00 not 01 (I just want to verify whether it IS or IS NOT necessary to have field 2 be set to 01 for it to work or not)...

I'm guessing you are referring to the developer tab. If this is the case UNKOWN_004 is 00-01-00-00-00-00-00-00. I didn't set it this way, so if it fits your theory 343 than it mus be the quest I cloned it from that was already this way. I will do further testing on it later and confirm.

There is some octets in other sections, which makes checkin/uncheckin repeatable box enabled.
If you mark quest with 04 section second octet, your quest will fail, if player get killed by other player.
