[Android][Development] Sid

I've been developing a new application for Android after purchasing my market license. As you all know my last application wasn't the best, but it was really just a point in which I was testing my feet in the android development water. Well.. let's get to the point of this application. Sid is basically Siri for Android. It has similar features and a similar UI. At the moment it uses Google's voice api with no alterations so the voice recognition is sometimes a bit off. Here's a list of what it can do as of now.

Sid can..

1. Define words for you
2. Setup a call with someone for you
3. Text someone for you
4. Tell you the weather within your area
5. Can search google for you

Later on Sid will..

1. Memorize your name!
2. Take notes for you
3. Give you directions to a location
4. Wait for some ideas from you RaGEZONE'rs

What i'm adding to Sid right now..- A database manager so he can do most of those actions.

I would like to beta testers to give ideas and point out quirks so if you would like a pre-alpha build say so in a reply here.

Yeah, so once it's atleast in the beta stages I'll publish it free onto the market.. For now I would just like some dedicated beta testers.

Theres already 500 different types or siri on android and they're all useless :P so i dunno good luck.

None of them are really authentic, nor do any sort of job correctly.

I was playing around with windows speech recognition and god it's awful.
Which library are you using? The one that comes with android of other?

And good job on project. Maybe one day android will have voice commands that actually work.

Before I decided to start this project, I played around with that. I'm using Google's Voice Actions which isn't great itself. I had to improve the recognition by taking commonly mis-recognized phrases and replacing them with what really needed to be there..

2.1+, Works fine on my phone..

EDIT: I see the problem.. uploading the updated package.

Ok, somehow the database creation got corrupted.. going to run a simple fix and re-package to see if it'll return back to normal.

I had to re-write my whole database class.. write a database helper class and then re-write the name set and check. It's all good now.

I don't think SAPI is that bad actually, if you do it correctly it will work very well in fact... You just have to set it up correctly as well so it recognizes your voice better. What version were you using?

I can make this is ~15 minutes using google's voice recognition/voice search API

memorizing name is only a few lines, etc

A android version of siri (Iphone 4s) amazing !

There's a better style now. No code improvement yet.. I'm going to incorporate a pulltoclear function for easier functionality.

Oh wait, texting is now much smoother. Its a 2 step process now so that you don't have to try to fit everything in, in one sentence
