Creating a r63 Retro with Phoenix 3.7 + RevCMS

Hey guys!

This a tutorial explaining in detail how to create your own Habbo Retro Hotel.

This tutorial will include the downloads, instructions and all the information you will need to set up your very own retro using RevCMS and Phoenix Emulator. To complete this it should take around half an hour once you have all the files downloaded.

Please note, that this tutorial will only demonstrate how to set up your hotel locally. You will have to figure out on your own how to make it publicly available. Also, this tutorial will teach you how to set it up using prehosted SWFs - if you want to use your own, that's fine, but I can't guarantee they will work.

Anywho, enough with the boring talk, let's get started!

Part 1 - Downloads

Yeah, you'll need to download a few things before we get started. The first download is a .zip containing the required MySQL adapter, RevCMS 1.9.9.9, and Phoenix Emulator 3.7 and the required crack file. The second is the installation file for XAMPP - a web server package that will install the required services to set up your hotel (Apache, MySQL and PHP). Both downloads are clean.

* Phoenix 3.7.zip
* Download XAMPP from SourceForge.net

Part 2 - Setting up XAMPP

Alrighty. So once both files are downloaded, open up the XAMPP installation first. Accept any UAC prompts that come up, and install it as follows...

Now, just sit back and let it install. It might take a while.

It should then automatically look for open ports and start the Apache and MySQL services, so leave the black prompt windows as they are installed. Then start the control panel when prompted. Apache and MySQL should be running. If not, start them. Then click X, it should minimize it to the system tray.

Part 3 - Configuring XAMPP

Go to RaGEZONE in your browser. If you did everything right so far, this should come up:

Select English, and then go to http://localhost/security/xamppsecurity.php
Fill in the top two boxes with a password, and click Password changing. This is your MySQL password.

Part 4 - Setting up RevCMS

Now that we have XAMPP fully operational, we have to install out Content Management System - in this tutorial, we will use RevCMS.

Okay, so open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\xampp\htdocs and delete EVERYTHING there.

Now, extract the .zip file that you downloaded somewhere, for example a folder in your desktop. Go to the RevCMS folder and put all of its contents into the folder you just wiped.

Open up C:\xampp\htdocs\app\management\config.php in the text editor of your choice, and configure it as follows.

The only thing you have to change here is the password, so edit it to what you chose during Step 3. Make sure to keep the apostrophe (') inbetween it.

Set the Server IP to localhost. Set the URL to RaGEZONE. Set the name, description, and email to whatever you want. Keep the maintenance status as false. You can change the default motto to whatever you want, although be careful you don't mess up the syntax. And set the credits and pixels to whatever you wish. You can edit the figure if you want.

Leave the web build as it is. Now, edit the other fields with these values:

Change Priv to Mango.

That's it! Now all we have to do is set up the database...

Part 5 - Creating the database

Go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin in your browser, and log in using the username root and your MySQL password. Click Databases at the top. Create a database named rev_phoenix, and go into it.

Now, make sure you have your Phoenix folder extracted somewhere.

Click Import at the top, navigate to your Phoenix folder, then into SQL, and select phoenix 3.6.4.sql. Then scroll to the bottom and click Go. It can take up to a few minutes to upload, so be patient.

Once it has uploaded, click SQL at the top, and in the box that appears type the following query:

Click Go, and it should execute. That's the database set up!

Part 6 - Creating your account

Go to RaGEZONE again. If you did everything correctly, you should see something like this...

If so, congrats! You successfully set up your CMS. You should be able to register normally, so do that just now. Your security key is a 4 digit number.

Now, you will be asking: How do I give myself ownership? Easy. Go back to phpMyAdmin, and while on the rev_phoenix databse go into the users table.

You should hopefully find one row. Click Inline Edit, and scroll to the right until you find the "rank" column. It should be 1, change it to 7 (administrator), scroll back to the left and save it. Log in and out of your retro and you should see a link to Housekeeping.

Part 7 - Setting up the emulator

Now. Time to set up the emulator, eh? Now, this is the part where some people might not continue. You will have to change the date of your computer to 2010, because the person who wrote the crack for this version of Phoenix is an idiot and used the trial version of the program he used to compile the cracked emulator.

Once you've done that, open up Phoenix 3.0 Cracker as an administrator. When you're prompted, type in en and enter. Type Crack, then enter. It should tell you that it is now cracked! You can now close the cracker.

Oh - I almost forgot. You have to install the MySQL adaptr that came with the downloaded .zip, install it normally selecting "Typical".

Before you open the emulator - you must edit the configuration file. So, open config.conf in a text editor, and the only things you want to change at the moment is the MySQL details. Change the password to whatever you chose again in Step 3, and the database name to rev_phoenix.

Save it. If you did it correctly, when opening the emulator you should get this. Oh, and allow Phoenix to run in any firewall notices you get.

Now, before entering the client, you want to disable secure connections since you are running it locally - it doesn't detect you're using the correct IP. So, go back into phpMyAdmin again, open the server_settings table and change enable_securesessions to 0. You should hopefully know how to do this the way you did when editing your rank. Re-open Phoenix Emulator.

Part 8 - Testing it out

With the emulator opened, go to http://localhost/client. If it all loads up correctly and you're at the hotel view with your un-edited message-of-the-day, congrats! You've successfully set up your retro. You can now configure more options or edit other stuff, however I won't go into that. Did it not work? Here are some common troubleshooting steps.

When I open the client, I get a 404 error!
Do not open the client using the buttons on your CMS. Go directly to http://localhost/client since you haven't set up a TheHabbos account yet.

The loading bars are stuck...
Make sure you used the correct values when editing the RevCMS config file. Don't miss anything out.

The client stays at a black screen, then redirects to /me?
Emulator error. Make sure your ports are OPEN (I won't explain how to do this, but using a VPN almost always ensures they are open) and try again.

It works, but there is no hotel view, no furni loads, and my avatar's clothes don't load.
Use the prehosted SWFs then.

The "Shop" button is unclickable.
Make sure you have the correct Product Data URL.

Is my hotel safe using a cracked Phoenix?
Should be. The cracked emulator has disabled the :amiaaron and :proxylol commands.

I'm having another issue.

1. Install XAMPP
2. Go to XAMPP Security and set your MySQL password.
3. Stop and start the MySQL service.
4. Delete everything in C:\xampp\htdocs
5. Move the contents of RevCMS to that folder
6. Configure C:\xampp\htdocs\app\management\config.php
7. Go to http://localhost/phpymyadmin and log in
8. Create a database named rev_phoenix
9. Go to Import, and upload phoenix 3.6.4.sql in the SQL folder of Phoenix
10. Once it has been uploaded, click SQL at the top
11. Execute ALTER TABLE `users` ADD `seckey` VARCHAR(999)
12. Go to RaGEZONE and create your account
13. Once created, go back to phpMyAdmin and enter the users table
14. Edit the value of rank for your user to 7
15. Enter the server_settings table.
16. Edit the value of enable_securesessions to 0
17. Install the MySQL Adapter, selecting Typical installation
18. Change the date on your computer to 2010
19. Open the Phoenix Emulator cracker as an administrator
20. Type en when prompted, and then Crack
21. Close the cracker, and edit config.conf
22. Edit the MySQL details to yours, don't edit anything else.
23. Open up Phoenix Emulator.
24. Go to http://localhost/client
25. If it works, well done. If not, post a comment with what is wrong and I'll get back to you.

thanks for making a tutorial on this. no other tutorials are clear like you are. I just finished the revcms part however, I get this error when going to localhost:

Go to phpMyAdmin (http://localhost/phpmyadmin) and if you're not logged in, do so, open up the rev_phoenix database and click SQL at the top to execute a SQL query. In the box. type

Hmm, not sure.

Try restarting Apache and MySQL (open XAMPP control panel in your system tray, and stop Apache and MySQL, then start them again) and try again. And log in and out of phpMyAdmin.

When I open the client the screen stays on Hotel View and nothing loads...

Did everything, Got it all set up, emulator set up, and when i try to enter hotel, i get this - Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_init() in C:\Users\User\Desktop\XAMPP\htdocs\thehabbos_api\class.validate.php on line 29
EDIT: Nvm, im a nob and can't read. :) But still it loads fine, and I get Object Not Found when it is done loading! D:

To the two previous posts, open the client by directly going to http://localhost/client - do not use the buttons on the CMS as you haven't set up TheHabbos API.

Does anything appear on the emulator console? Does it say anyone has connected, or is there any errors?

I get this. I load the client in GOogle Chrome and it loads. I see Hotel View but not navigator or anything and then after some minutes I get this:

Your emulator probably isn't listening to any ports - have you portforwarded?

It says- Connection [0] From 127.0.0.1 then right after that...
Login Error: User Account not found - make sure the users last_ip matches their current ip (127.0.0.1)
Connection Dropped [0] from 127.0.0.1

You missed a step. Go back into phpMyAdmin, open the server_settings table and change the value of enable_securesessions to 0. Then re-open the emulator.

I haven't covered this as I have never needed to portforward, since I use a VPN that opens all ports automatically for me.

There should be a tutorial in the tutorials section somewhere telling you how to do it, if not try googling "how to portforward" and then the name/make of your router.

You could also try using Hamachi, although I've never done that before.

Which are the ports that need to be open?

I got my error fixed and I got revcms running. I have 2 questions:

1. How do I edit the mango theme to have my logo instead of habbo at the top, the background, and pictures etc? i went to tpl/skins/mango/images and tried replacing the logo.png with mine and it does not show up. is that how you edit it?

2. I'm also getting stuck on the hotel view when trying to load the client..

1. Open the logo in your browser and press Ctrl + F5 (force refresh) and it should use the new one. Then try doing the same while on your /me page.

2. You need to have your ports opened.

Does 80 also have to be open? I have opened 30000 and 30001 and now I get this in my emulator:

Did the error say anything about last_ip?

hay when i click on to try and get onto the client this comes up

Please move ./install/config.php to ./includes/config.php to continue.

i tryed looking for that file but theres no such thinge what do i do?????

Yeah, but still, change 127.0.0.1 to localhost. Also, make sure your Server IP in RevCMS is localhost too -- not 127.0.0.1

And it should be in line 41 of client.php

Ok Vuis, I got PhoenixEmu working now but Im stuck at Hotel view still when using client, is their anyway you can team view with me?

Like I said before, if nothing is coming up in the emulator console, you have to port forward.

so it has nothing to do with swfs or anything? i though port forward was only required if I wanted it public not private

The SWFs work, try making sure you put in the correct URLs, no spaces or newlines anywhere.

Lmao. I feel like a noob for asking this. but In order to run phoenix 3.7.0 do i have to uninstall my McAfee software? because. It says proxy detected phoenix is unable to connect to otaku to verify your account

Uh oh. It was all doing very good, and then i restarted the EMU, and it tells me - Proxy Detected Cannot connect To Otaku account or some stuff like this. Fix?

My ports are open.

Hey, Im getting this error - Phoenix Emu- System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005) : No Such host System addr...... To much to type rest. All i did was go into managment config file and make server ip my internal ip. Whats wrong?

Thanks Vuis! I have managed to get it online and everything! My friends can log onto it no problem! But I have some questions, how can i get the page button to work, Click to enter hotel button, and how do i customize the page to instead of saying habbo it says whatever my hotels name is? and how can i change the template of the page? im having the same issue as you bl4bl4, are you on a mac? what type of router do you have? are you sure your ports are open, because I think that's my issue. this is what my emu shows:

I see your problem, i was stuck to, Make sure in PHPmyadmin, on the left menubar, there IS A DATABASE SELECTED. Click one, then import, and then your good to go! :)

how do i add staff page to it cuz i click it and it doesnt wrok

Download mySQL Adapter then go to Phoenix Emulator v3.7 Cracked>Config.

at the bottom you will see 127.0.0.1, replace it with your hamachi IP or your IP or the VPS Ip. Then re run the emu and it should work.

Vuis, are the prehosted swfs the only ones that work with this? Ive finally got my client to get out of hotel view and connect but I want to use my own swfs.

ok i tried another pack and finally got it working, my only issue now is making it accessible to others. Im trying to make it so that 2 of my staff can enter but its not working, which address am I supposed to use?

Go to http://localhost/client if you don't typed in your TheHabbos API-account.

I had it set up, i had my hotel running but I decided to try a new CMS, so i deleted all the htdocs and everything and the new CMS wasnt working. So i went back to RevCms and when i tried to go to localhost this error showed up:

Same thing as you, Justhelpme. I ran the crack, and it doesn't do as Vuis said it should. I don't know what to do. I wonder if they fixed it.

download mySQL and if you did go to which is in the phoenix 3.7.zip and edit the config, should work... Btw you only edit the first IP not the 127.0.0.1

When i try to run Phoenix, i get a message about CodeVeil and the Console closes. Why?

Very nice tutorial, I have a last_ip error though using the cracked Phoenix, all the ports have been portforwarded because I was using Uber last and that worked. I have put the securesessions from 1 to 0 but still getting the last_ip error?

You guys, I had that same problem too you need to change the date and time of your computer to somewhere in 2010. Then re-run the cracker :)

@Vuis will you please provide us with a SWF's pack for download, like which is used to be self-hosted it? Yeah, I mean Force's does work but we'd want to have it ourselves. Tried a couple of them, but they just don't load, white screen.

My client doesnt work anymore... ive changed the webbuild.
And YES ive fill in everything correctly in the config.

Anyone knows the problem?
The previous time i had this problem not.

@JayPwnsAll thanks for the SWF pack, tested and works. Will you please provide information about the pack though, like is it ripped, clean or not and stuff. Now that I've got a fully local-hosted r63 retro, thank you once again :D

Oh yeah, how do I fix that clothing bug (I suppose)? It appears that it is not possible to change clothes, saving is however working, though.

Sorry mate never had that bug with the clothes :s. It always worked for me. And i don't know much about the pack, I think someone just released it normally for anyone to use. And if by clean do you mean clean by viruses? If so, it has none at all. And everything work's fine on it, except for the hotel view. It appears black. New problem:
BLACK SCREEN!
I have changed webbuild
Have tried many own & prehosted SWFS...

My hotel loads, shows the hotel view, and stops at that. Any ideas?

i get a white page for my client nothing loads
edit: client loads but gets stuck on hotelview and dcs me

@Muffmuncher: Click in one of the white boxes over the skin tones, and the faces (and proper skin tone colors) should show up. Then make a valid character and saving it should work fine. I guess the default character (unless you changed it in config.php instead of leaving it as '-' or whatever) isn't a valid one to save...it has several "blank" pieces.

Other than that little issue, everything works just fine for me. Great tutorial!

It says Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in C:\xampp\htdocs\app\management\config.php on line 55

when i go to localhost/xampp (done all the config steps ect)

And it says mysql connector has gone away, when i attempted to go to phpmyadmin
