CPW Related Questions (How do I get it to connect to the damn patch server?)
Ok so, as the title says, it cannot connect to the patch server.
Let me back up.
I used 343's complete package when my install failed on my dedicated machine.
NOW: Due to some pardon my french "fucked up" partioning, the /opt folder can only hold 4gb of data. That ain't working sonny. I moved the whole cpw shabang over to /var. So, I heard you don't put ANYTHING in opt/lampp/htdocs/cpw, you don't even MAKE the folder called cpw. Is this true?
If not, what goes in there? (Please be detailed and don't go you put the thing in there.)
Thanks.

Nothing can "go in there"
CPW in /opt/lampp/htdocs/ is a SYMBOLIC LINK
Re: CPW Related Questions (How do I get it to connect to the damn patch server?)
Probably an apache alias. Look in 343's apache config files.
Edit: a wild ninja appears.

check with winscp, right-click on /opt/lampp/htdocs/, check "edit link" and see where it leads, maybe its on another even smaller partition or deleted :D

I don't have that, it's weird. I still have no friggin clue what to do with CPW. If someone makes a good, english tutorial for CPW I will give you tons of rep and likes '-'.
Re: CPW Related Questions (How do I get it to connect to the damn patch server?)
Why not just switch to spatch instead? I was using CPW myself and I also have 343s release but it's limitations became apparent when peoples clients were crashing after every 4 -5 updates because it was increasing the pcks size everytime I updated.
At least with spatch you can place patches in htdocs/patch. I actually had a similar problem to you regarding space on the partions, 2 x 1TB hard disks and the first was a max of 4GB O.o so I went on their site and combined the partitions myself by reformatting the server.
Although admittedly spatch also has it's drawbacks being flagged by some AVs as a virus but most people can work around this.
Re: CPW Related Questions (How do I get it to connect to the damn patch server?)
Magic, follow these steps:
Code:
cd /opt/lampp/htdocs
rm cpw
ln -s /var/cpw/files/CPW /opt/lampp/htdocs/cpw
[the red is normally /opt/]
presto - old symbolic link removed, and new one that points to your location created :):

Ahh, I fixed the error, thanks guys. I didn't have it written correctly in the patchers configs XD
