Effects,
There really is not alot of effects here but I am guessing that is the way you wanted it. The As I state below about the music notes I will skip to an idea. Your background is full of cherry blossoms so why not incorperate that into the design having fallen blossoms going from behind to infront of him following the music notes. This would have helped to add depth as well is brining the back ground and render more together as a single piece.
Lighting,
The render has a different directional lighting compared to the background. Flipping him from left to right would have created a better light aspect beween the background and the character. Also adding your own light source would have increased your depth also.
Text,
Why the text is nice it fails to match the rest of the design. The colour stands out and the main aspect of your signature has now become your text and not the signature itself. Some times the best text to use is the most basic. If your going to add text as a main focal point make sure it is incorparted with the render and the background rather than sitting on top.
Flow,
The flow works well but the sound effect you created may have been better done if you had warped there perspective to flow around the character rather than just infront of him.
The Extra Mile,
A good extra you could hace done was creating a reflected image of the final signature in his glasses. Why it would not have stood out it would have given depth and incorperated the design more. Remember sometimes the smallest details you would normally not even notice on a design can be the difference between good and great.

Overall,
A good piece of work but you need to work on lighting slightly and making the render work with the background creating more depth.
