Re: Advice and Future Plans.
Why don't you use Phoenix 2008 Repack?
Re: Advice and Future Plans.
Why are you looking for an emulator when the official Gunz source is released?

It is kinda silly to still work with ASM and emulated
files while a source is released. Although I know some
small time servers are still doing just that, when problems
arise, emulation/2008/2007 will all be in trouble long
before 2011 source files, and ASM fixes will take much
longer to put into effect then a 10 min source fix.
I think I remember Dawson referring to them as Legacy
projects now, and that is simply what they are.
I just want to let you know this before you start
something with goals, because if you are picking non
source related tools, you will probably fall far from those
goals in which you have set. The best idea is to hire a
coder or just learn C++ yourself.

I guess its stable enough for a server, lots of people have used it.
Re: Advice and Future Plans.
I guess I'll look into it.
For the record, I already know C, I just enjoy the thrill of debugging closed source applications. Since I'm an avid open source user, decompiling and debugging the "dark side" is much more of a thrill. The source just makes you look at it going... "Oh... *staples easy button here*."

Haha, you could download the August 2005 client from gamefront.com and the gunzold.exe + txt and try to make the matchserver from 2011 to be compatible with the 2005 client.
That would possible give you enough of a thrill.
Anyway, Goodluck ;)
