Alright so I obviously looked through forums and stuff for things like this.. but I couldn't really find anything.
I would really like to know how I can make my own PT server and play on it on my own computer. Meaning I don't want it to be public. I watched a couple of guides, but there were a lot of comments saying that that particular guide sucked or whatever so I got doubts. I'm running on Windows 7 32 bit and I'm dying to know how I can make a server... Thanks a lot in advance.

- PT Tutorials Rules. (these aren't heavy actually, but they do point out why your thread was utterly inappropriate in the location you posted it)
- And, it's not really applicable here, but the Releases and Developments sub-sections have pinned topics explaining what you should, and more importantly should not post in them.

Regulars should know that that is the right way of dealing with such silly mistakes, and that starting an argument which creates a "wall of noise" is not the right way to deal with it. (some sections do post reports saying "OT" or "Wrong Section - should be in [blah]" etc. :wink:)
As for the initial question, please try the guides we already have. Start with a clean Windows install. (don't use your main PC, coz you may well need to reinstall Windows if it doesn't work out)
There will always be "I couldn't follow this guide" comments, but in all honesty, it isn't the guides fault; it really is that hard to set a PT server up for the first time.

That one is what i followed to make my server. I do not know of programming and networking, but after a couple of days i made it, using this guide, so it ought not to suck :) , so i can comment that (at least) this one does not suck, i comment a lot of times, and tell my friends that this guide do not suck, so, you should not doubt.
It is a good thing to read the tutorial, and not just to 'watch' the tutorial's thread, by reading it with some reasonable attention, i believe you could do the server in no time.. And also if you follow the guide you would have your own opinion of whether the guide is good or not.
(and i use windows 7)
