Ice Mine ( Sandurr SMD Converter )
Ole everyone. I need help with Sandurr SMD Convert. When i use it for ice mine (mine-1.smd), the converted files is bugged in this case mine-1.ase will be bugged. Also graphic bug. The map self looks very broken. Can someone help me to solve it? Thanks ya

Are you using sandurrs ase importer as well?
It the ase imports perfectly fine for me in 3ds max 8.
Oh I see what you mean, the the graphics are screwed up.
This happens with all dungeon type maps in PT, they are made differently to the normal maps.

Sure, fix the smd exporter to work with
*UVW_U_OFFSET
*UVW_V_OFFSET
*UVW_U_TILING
*UVW_V_TILING
*UVW_ANGLE
in dungeon type maps.
How you are suppose to do that is beyond me.
I find setting the *UVW_U_TILING and *UVW_V_TILING to 30 fixes some of the skins, so they look normal, but still the angle and orientation of the skins are all messed up.

Fixable, but might be very hard, re-texturing + renaming moving "flowers" (PT is using special names with ":" to animate them).
I only got piece of map from draw call. Not sure how to get whole map. I will check it again when I will have some more time.
PS. geometry will be smoothed in PT. It's 3ds view.

Too many draw calls to connect, map is too big.
If someone know how to shrink map so it can fit in one camera view or how to force PT to draw whole map than It can be done.
I think you should try SunnyZ way but in 3ds max, you will have to re-texture map using multi/sub-object material and set correct value of tiling.
May I ask you what are you trying to do in Mine-1? Maybe it can be done other way.

Can't you move your map that overlap mine-1? Remaking mine-1 is a lot of work.

Best to leave official maps in place. If official server decide to update it you will just copy mine-1.smd file :D

How do the Max edits change the ASE? Examples?
