My First Banner/Logo

How does it look?

There is nothing special on it, you have just spammed brushes and added text? o_O

Don't like the outcome, because you can see the spamming, if you look bottom of that banner...

But it's kinda alright, isn't?

All the brushes around the text is not needed.

You got to consider it's also his first time.
The text is awesome but the rest is not that good,
I agree with them, too much spamm...
Maybe try to remove the brushes at the bottom and add something different behind the text, use C4D's, smudge them change the opacities, go to Effects -> Filter Gallery, use any of the ones you like on something, use blending options and abuse them. Burn and Dodge tools are cool to create depth and make it look better.

According to the title this meant to be a logo. Now a website does not consist only of a logo , and shouldn't contain more than just what is needed. Really brushes all over the text , and under it , and above it , is useless. What you need is 1 little image that represents the content of the website , and a text with a gradient , with two of the most used colors from the website. Eventually some minor changes such as drop shadow.

Logos can also be just a simple text , but with looks that blends into the site , thus making it stand out from the crowd.

Must also specify that PS has tons of free Styles , Gradients , Brushes , Patterns , Textures on DeviantART. All you have to do is to find them , and use them in a clever way.
