VMWare and VBox Same Problem
Hey guys,
Firstly I would like to apologize because I do not know if this is the
correct place to post this question. I installed Ubuntu server on VMWare 11:10 and made the following settings:
VMWare Network Bridge Mode
After the addresses configured in the file Interfaces
Command: # nano / etc / network / interfaces
Address 192.168.0.10
netmask 255.255.255.0
Network 192.168.0.0
broadcast 192.168.0.255
Gateway 192.168.0.1
For my physical machine that is the host windows 7
ip 192.168.0.11
Sub Mask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.1
When you drop the host for the virtual windows 7 which is Ubuntu
the two do not see, I tried to put the Network adapter to the VM
Host-Only I can give a ping Windows 7 for Ubuntu
but a ping from Ubuntu to Windows 7 does not work.
created to test another VM with Windows XP
Windows XP to put the addresses
IP 192.168.0.14
Sub Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.0.1
I can ping from Windows XP to Ubuntu
I can ping the Ubuntu and Windows XP
DETAIL: The network card of my notebook is wireless
NOTE: I tried to connect to the WinSCP for Windows XP
Ubuntu but it gives an error saying "Connection Refused" I checked my settings IPtables but it is all off.
Algué with experience in VmWare or Virtual Box can give me a light?

Re: VMWare and VBox Same Problem
I could not create a virtual connection between disconnected my plate that is a cable with my VM not? Cause if the VM programs do not have this feature, in a certain way they make no sense, because if I want to configure a Linux server doing any testing, and a network between my physical and virtual machine without a cable connection on a laptop in the middle the bush (eg farm). How would you do?
Surely the developers of VMWare and Virtual Box does not think about that. I will make a test with a cable. Thanx for help.
Re: VMWare and VBox Same Problem
wlan and pysical / virtual network work 100% [ look at dolkeboy post ] but u need more as basic network knowledge ...
Re: VMWare and VBox Same Problem
Knowledge network is quiet. The network I have no doubt. My question is if my machine is even necessary to actually be physically connected to a physical network so that I can establish communication between the physical host machine and virtual machine that is the case or if the guest is possible to do this without actually being connected to a physical network? Because if it is theoretically possible, if I put my VM configured as Bridge and the Ips Linux (VM) Windows (Physical Machine) in the same range of ip assume that function as an internal LAN. Am I mistaken? Sorry for my English.
PS. I already tried Host Only configuration in both softwares VMWare and Virtual Box. Also dont work
Re: VMWare and VBox Same Problem
If i remeber right that happend to me a long while ago (not sure trough) and i found out that i had to reinstall my windows to fix that. it may not fix it for u but for me it did.
Re: VMWare and VBox Same Problem
I'll do a test on my desktop computer that comes a network cable into it. I'm sure it will work on the Desktop. I'll have to travel back to this test. I'm trying to configure the notebook PWServer because like I said I'm on a farm isolated from the rest of the world ahahahahahahaha I try to format the notebook here on the farm and try to configure again.
