Hey I just wanted to hear what people's opinions are on a server that is not free to play, but you must vote to play. Should it even be allowed to be in the top 100 list? I am speaking of Selesnia Online, this is not a troll thread, I just want to hear people's opinions.
1.This is a stupid topic.
2.Every server does what they want.
3.There are no tos for fiesta servers to don't allow this.
4.It deserve's if you like the game.

actually vote for points works fine, since its a way to earn gamecash "Free", its like officials servers "click ads for coins" lol even they have free offers for cash, which i think its worst than a simple vote D:

well it doesn't really matter to me its their method of getting votes other server does something like Vote vote vote if we reach this number of votes we will give everyone free golds some server has vote for points. its really up to you on what you want on your server and there are no Rules that we cannot do that on our servers
It is a bit forward, " you must vote to play " I guess some people don't like being told what to do, but I don't think theres anything wrong with it.
We were actually thinking about doing it, and then hey look selesnia did it.
We do vote for AM ( Cash points ) if we hit blahblah votes everyone gets blahblah amount.

You're supposed to vote because you like the server, not because you want to play it. Voting to login is dumb, idk why everyone is saying it's fine. See the way we are thinking about ours, is when you open the launcher, it loads the vote page, if players choose to vote yay! , if not owell but at least they do not " have " to vote to play, I see it as more of A reminder :D

These are all options I have seen on few servers I have played. Vote to play is really nothing.
In my opinion every server can do whatever they want to get votes, since member base is mostly dependent on votes and development. Whenever I am looking for new server or better I always look for TOP. I have seen few desperate servers closing their server just to get votes and saying " we will reopen when we have 5 k votes or w.e." I recently joined Selesnia, and it's kind of great to see another server with so many members beside Terra. But they are still free in many ways. In Terra, Dusk, FinalHell, Pintos and so many others you need real money for certain essential, consumables and enhancing stone. Selesnia you can still play and do all without having to spend a rupee in game. All essential, enhancing stoned, charms all I have seen in game. I am kind of amazed to see how they are still running it without focusing in Mall and $$ so much like other servers. Selesnia added Vote to play recently, it was kind of annoying when there was few bugs. But now it only takes me 5 sec to log in now through voting. Nothing big really!! i mean that server is still the only server i know which is free for all. I don't even mind if they made a pop up in game that would make people stop grinding to Vote lolz.
But they should implant vote for some other stuff as well. If people have issues with vote pop to play and think its unfair they can leave, since they aren't forcing anyone to stay or play.

Anyways, the point Muno is making is right. They're forcing players to vote for them to be able to log on. Ofcourse no one can stop them from doing that, and it's their choice, but it's still pretty retarded. People should vote by choice, not because they're being forced to. I think it's tragic, moralfags can say whatever they want, doesn't bother me.

I for one isn't "retired worker of Fiesta", and Selesnia is probably a good server, considering players cbf'd to vote every single time they want to gain access to the server. Which is alright, considering they have the freedom to do so. However, I don't think that's right of them to do. Get my point?
Also, I wouldn't really look at servers with outdated files as "competition", other than Terra. Which is simply because of their player base. It's just the same ride all the time on all servers, and it's getting old. Also, I don't have a server up as of yet, but I certainly wouldn't do that to my players. I'd rather reward them with cool stuff, than with playtime. What do you think is better?

Thank you all for you well thought out opinions and answering the question like it was originally intended. I feel like it is a forceful way of getting votes because the server sucked and they could not get votes any other way. I think servers with a higher population should do the same thing and see what happens then, lulz. Staff calling members slut and stuff is really unprofessional if its in their premises, cant they just remove smileys if they didn't want to be used? so i doubt that is the truthful statement. But what staff does in their personal life or out of their server is really not any of any members business or concerns. I never knew I was a dev or held any staff positions. If I deved that server would have skills that don't bin or skins that don't bin. Anyway, Sarfaros you wanted my opinion and nothing did happen to me there anyway. I just thought it was funny business how they turned voting into what they did, and yes we all know Alt F4 or task manager, yet most people have no computer knowledge they just log in and play.
doi2in, i had you mixed up with versas buttbuddy, we really don't care what you or anyone has to say about how we get votes, the players aren't forced to vote. Yet we still have 50k+ votes? There is a thread on our forums where someone stated how to exit the window which is Alt+f4, we added that so they'd start voting which now they do and look at the results.

well first of all why do you play that server? most of us would say cause I like it thats why i am playing on this server so making them vote to play is not that really a big issue most of us here have been on this development for 2 years i've been here from the start we encountered a lot of player think about this there are only few donators and lots of leechers at least that's the only thing that they could do to help the server by voting to reach rank 1 they've been playing for free and doesn't even help the server for its maintenance fee and cost.

Top of games rules, If Top of games, really cared about all reports they have gotten regarding breaking their rules almost 50% of those listed servers should already been removed from the list.
iStu you're server also uses same concept but different way. Your game asks for members to vote every time they tried to login. I get it you are not satisfied with Selesnia methods because your server is not #1 anymore. Who wouldn't be? This is what competition is. If servers can't compete in Votes they threaten and try to take them down. Like always.
No disrespect or anything but that's your you're nature. Hacking servers because you cannot compete in something. Why don't you try to add vote to play for you're server and see how it goes for you. You guys have dedicated members, i doubt they would care as well. I mean a lot of servers been down for months due to DDoS of course members are not going to vote. Your votes are not the same anymore, because you are in competition against FinalHell.

As you can see no one cares how shit or bad servers are. Why do you think people are playing it? If it was for features and contents they implemented why not just play official game.
People play private servers for rates and free. 90% of people playing private server left official due to getting banned or couldn't keep up spending real money.

Yes people like high rates, but imo 90% of them would like a mid rates servers with stuff no other server has like new systems and new raiding maps and so on.

Selesnia should add close option to it for members that does not have idea how to close it for sure. I have seen a lot of members in their shout box complaining about it. On side note why not add vote for points or something on it?

Seriously though, think about it this way, without forced voting, selesnia was what 10th or something with a few thousand votes, like most servers, and now they have 50k because they force players to vote.
so thats 40k+ votes worth of players who didn't like them enough to vote, if you ask me they just made them self look bad :)

Having a decent server is out of picture so just trying to get members in you little server hosted under alpha studios. I will vote for selesnia online too because I want to log in game.

Ok so here is a serious question. If you dont force people to vote, why is it when you click no, it says. "You must vote to log in." Why not just take that out and if they vote they vote, if not its whatever. But you are saying its not being forced upon players, yet like you said not everyone reads forums or has any computer basics, so with that given it means you literally are forcing players. Take out the "You must vote to play." part of you literally are forcing (on dumb players.) And Taylor, if you are so pro at deving, why is every server you worked at gone down? hmmmmm
Selesnia added new custom skills that bin you when you use them, so that way you have to log back in fully and vote more. Lulz.

Well to the people playing there it's not forced voting, they know they can close it but decide not to. For people just joining it would be. either way they don't stop you from accessing the game so this thread is abit off? =D
Infinite Aion has a system like this, they only allow access to the Abyss if you vote, voting site's never took them off.

As Zaruna stated there are many other server that does more extreme methods on getting votes. No matter how much you report to TOP at end they never do anything regarding it. If you need hit man look me up.

They already made a statement saying they will add close button to vote pop up on their forums. Matter of time they update their launcher and do those fixes. You said you don't play Selesnia, and i have been playing it but I do not see any new custom skill. Can you tell me where i can find them since I am still a noobie in there. If you know what binning means its basically something is wrong with that server or their updates, I mean which server will do this intentional to get them self binned, seems re-tarted statement there. And to top that off, since i haven't seen new custom skills, might just be me that is not binning or seen any complaints in forums regarding it.Quote:

Side note: If every server "Taylor" worked is going down, maybe something wrong those servers owners? Don't know who that is or has anything to do with this thread. But if every server that he worked for is going down is mostly under the owner choice not the developer. Don;t think there is any server ran by developers.
