Silverdale features four unique classes, each having their own Equipment and Skills. We try to keep all the classes very different, that probably makes some classes a bit harder to play than others, but they all should have they're own advantages and flaws.. The game also features alot of Bosses which drop unique drops.. To make the game more enjoyable we make special events now and then, which gives players currently playing a chance to get Special events only available through the event. The game will also feature Trading Skills and other activities other than increasing your level.

This is not Eclipse, This is not MR. This is a custom based client and server source.
Big props for this.
Edit: Hmm wait. I didn't even look at the entire game name.
Silverdale Online.
After doing a bit of digging, you are indeed the official dev of the game (was just wondering, as you released the source a while ago... although it's not publicly released anymore from what I can tell).
But wasn't Silverdale built on top of a custom modified version of the Mirage engine? Or am I mistaken? Is it even coded in VB6..? For those who don't, the Mirage engine is the VB6 game engine that most of these "create your own MMO" engines are based off of; Eclipse included.

It has somewhat base parts but this is a fully unique engine. We had the Silverdale name ages ago, dropped the project and released everything. Since then we started 100% fresh and all the content is new.
Please do not compare my game to anything sleepy studios makes, Totally different levels of programming and content.
We are one of the only Small time RPG Games that are fully ran through SQL tables.

Fair enough. I'll give the game a go.
It's a bit late so I don't think I'll do much tonight, but later today I'll try to screw around in the game a bit.
My only complaint, albeit without having played the game yet, is that the game requires the runtimes to start, but I didn't get the runtimes with the installer that allows me to change the install directory of the game.
I download both, and the custom directory one only works if the one in my C drive is installed. I run on a 60GB SSD primary / 750GB normal HDD secondary, so it's a bit inconvenient for me.
What's the issue with the runtimes when the game is not installed in the default program files directory?
Lil Update: I played the game for a brief period of time. It's quite a bit better than all the other small 2D MMO's I've played. Good job!
Now, some feedback...
There is a level 2 aggressive mob in the level 1 area to the right of the initial map. He kills me in about 3 shots or so, and I do very little damage as a celestial.
Also, teleporting while pointing and clicking seemed a bit buggy. A lot of the times it wouldn't teleported me if I just kept [right] clicking on the edge of the map - I would have to use the arrow keys to actually teleport.
Perhaps if I [right] click on the exact tile that I am already on, and that tile that would normally teleport you if you were using the arrow keys, then it should just go ahead and teleport you, despite the lack of arrow key movement.
I also happened to come across a bug where, if I started to use my ability [which has a cast time] but it never went off because I was moving while attempting to cast it, the ability would still go on CD despite me never starting to cast. This usually only happened when I was attempting to [poorly] kite mobs around.
There are lots of little things that I could see being improved for the purpose of making the game more intuitive.
- I didn't know what class did what, I had to check the site, then the forums, then the wiki I found on the forums... and then the recent activity on the wiki to find the only link to info about the classes.
- It would have been quite useful if my heal would have healed me if I wasn't targeting anything that could be healed, i.e. targeting enemy, nothing, and perhaps even something too far
- The small, orange colored text that describes my skills is difficult to read... albeit I am colorblind.
- Although very minor, the shop buttons felt a bit... odd without hover effects. Just something to show you that you are hovering over the buttons, similar to many other buttons in the UI.
- 'Current/Maximum' Numbers on my top right health/mana/exp bars would be quite useful.
- It was slightly annoying when I went up to a shop, then left it, and then landed on the tile next to the shop.. which happened to open the shop window again - right after I closed it.
- I was briefly introduced to the idea of guilds in the tutorial, but when clicking on the icon, as expected, it told me I wasn't in a guild. It would be nice if the tutorial very briefly explained about how/when you can create a guild, as that was something I was immediately left pondering upon finishing the tutorial.

We just fixed the healing issue, It's now not required to be targeting someone. It's now a AOE skill for player and Party members.

What is this game based on? Last time I tried a 2d game had to delete it. Which is Terraria. And it had a lower FPS than Minecraft....

Well, you're not Sebastian are you? This project is created with the eclipse stuff and all. It was first worked on by a guy named GIAKEN and then it was taken over by Robin. Both very respected persons in the VB6, elysium MMO creation. Well, there have been a few leaks of the Silverdale server and I have it too. And as long as you're not Sebastian you can't claim the game as your own.. Godborn Community is the spot where it all used to happen. It seems ZoSo (Aka Sebastian) is working on a new game now. Anyway. Clear it up will ya?

Actually you are totally incorrect.
Robin worked on the First attempt at the title with several other people which was buggy and failed miserably.
I bought the name and the name only to copyright it from ZoSo. The game was started from scratch and nothing from the original game is the same as this game. The engine is completely different and more advanced. There is well over 500 more maps, items, and npc's added.
The leak that is out is the public version of the very very old title before I purchased the name.

Re: My indie SNES ORPG. Silverdale Online
Make an HTML5 client that runs completely in the browser. No point in making a downloadable app. And this will allow OSX, Linux, and even mobile people to play your game without native ports.

I've been trying to play but your forums don't seem to work. The image verification won't load.
