it's bright and it's intended to be. As for hurtful, I am sorry.
LOL No he's not. Maybe sorry you feel that way, but he's not actually sorry like "I'm so sorry, it'll never happen again" sorry at all. :lol:
Maybe Azure could go a bright Untra-violet, Amber or Poison-Emerald instead. Maybe Azure level subscribers could choose which "hurtful" colour they go, if it's putting them off making the subscription. ^_^
@bobsobol only Ultra-vilolet is the most readable.
I've already suggested it to change, but yeah. Dan has spoken. :P

Honestly, I recommend lowering the brightness on your screen, it doesn't make it look so bad.
