Hey! Any of you have read the light novel of this? It will air on 7th July also here is the plot

The ten thousand who have logged onto the as of yet mysterious game 'Sword Art Online' using their Nerve Gear have been forced into this perilous death game and are trapped inside.

Protagonist Kirito, one of the many gamers, has greeted this 'truth'.
He plays as a solo player in the giant castle that is the stage for this game ---- 'Aincrad'.

To meet the conditions of clearing the game and leaving this twisted virtual world, he must get through all 100 floors. Will Kirito have what it takes to clear the game, or will he die trying?

That's what always happens when things get over-hyped.

Just watched the first episode, damn this is what i call a good anime D:

Sword Art Online Episode 1

Definitely a good start, this series looks like it may live up to it's hype. Though the first episode wasn't as strong as I thought it was going to be. Compared to other series the director (Tomohiko Ito) worked on - e.g. Seikimatsu Okaruto Gakuin.

My only other gripe is that there are some rather cute anime girls in this series, and we all know no attractive females play MMO's.

I know a few attractive women that play MMO's, and no what i'm saying now isn't related to perverted things as most know me now already.
I met a few of them on Talisman Online, when i was the biggest ERO tastic perv there, and while talking the perverted nonsense they just added me on friend list, and a few days later i was already having a video conversation while playing the game.

This show is definitely my favorite for this season. Episode 2 was seriously awesome.

The only thing I would wonder, is what is happening to the bodies of the players in the real world?

The fight was pretty awesome, best fight i probably ever saw in a anime :p
And with their bodies, it's still unknown even in the manga it's still unknown :/

I hope they finish this anime until the end, or even make a movie out of it :D

This is my favorite show in the 2012 Summer Season by far. It is one of the animes I watch as it comes out, and can say after the last 2 episodes, there really is no way I could hate SAO.

P.S. I found a copy of the Light Novel in English, if anyone wants it, I would be glad to share.

Okay so I watched the available episodes for "The Ambition of Nobuna Oda" and I must say it is the most atypical Harem I have ever seen

1. He isn't a complete pushover
2. The women actually kinda respect him
3. It isn't completely about risque outfits and nosebleeds.

I have to admit, Nobuna Oda looks promising for sure ^^.

Even if it's the standard harem anime I like it, the setup is the usual but it seems different since it's located on another time xD

The Light novel is very emotional i highly recommend it, it's far better then the manga, currently in volume 4.

This is what I'm assuming would realistically have to happen. After the first set of deaths it would become a major issue and I'm assuming that Akihiko Kayaba (the creator of SAO) made an announcement in the real world about what he had done. From there I would assume that these players would be moved to hospitals and would have feeding tubes and waste removal given to them.

From there my question would be what about things like muscular atrophy. After all of the events your body would be wrecked.

Not to mention psychological as well. These guys are living in a dangerous world, some of them not even old enough to drink, and we are talking about them being inside the game for months. I mean yah, I know I have fantasized about being in said time period, but when you really get down to it, compared to modern day society it would be a really hard transition to make.

PTSD would probably be an issue for anyone who actually survived the game.

Oh definitely, the psychological impact would be ridiculous. I've been tearing through the light novels and is really a great series and I hope the anime does it justice.

Honestly it would be like Al from FMA, no muscle mass, long hair/ nails etc.

About episode 3, I liked the fact they are doing some side stories as well as the main story line. I started the lite novel and I can say, they are never going to run out of material to build on in the anime :o

They didn't have to take photos from their faces, if i remember correctly. Since the Nervegear covers 2/4th of the face. So their faces should age in the game too.
But yeah.. It's a anime after all, anything can happen or be expected in it.

I saw the first episode. Can't say much 'cause it was an introductory one. The concept seems really good, this might be a really good one.

Kirito talks more to other girls than to Asuna.

I'm currently at volume 8 (almost ending it) and its damn annoying that they only had like 2-3 times for themselves in the WHOLE STORY.

I know what you mean, I can't stop thinking about SAO D:, every episode I sit on CrunchyRoll for 15+min prior to it starting, making sure I watch it right when it comes out.

Im reading V2 of LN atm, im just going straight through them, and about 16.5, I got a version without it, so I just totally missed out on that amazing chapter until last night.

As for V10, one of my friends actually does a little bit of Fan Subbing for LNs (he's working on Oda Nobuna actually) and he said V10 should be completed in less than a month if I remember right.

Episode 8 will be the shit i was waiting for eversince episode 2! >.<

Skip V2 and go straight for V3.

You have to understand this season of SAO is only the first what, 2 volumes, at max the first 3? I can almost guarantee a Season 2 simply for the fact it has the biggest following of any anime currently airing right now.

There are at least 10 volumes of the LN out currently, and the author has hinted at continuing it further. (In the 9th volume he stated something along the lines of "Of course, this original novel is still far from finished!") To think the anime wont continue would be kinda silly.

Well they seem to be to going through the novel pretty quickly. They finally started the main story line, it's going a little bit too quick, it's only Episode 8 and they already found the 75th boss. I guess they may stall with fillers or side story's.

But now the fun starts :P

they found the 74th boss tht kirito defeats with the dual swords.

after that comes the duel with heathclif, then their holidays then the 75th boss then duel with heathclif then puff end of SAO

i really hope they go in-depth on their holidays, my fave part on SAO is the lovey-dovey act betwen them 2 <3

I've been getting into romance anime laterly :p

why'd u read GGO before ALO xDD

There is no way that they will put 16.5 in the anime, it would end up ruining the name of SAO. People would then remember SAO for the half of chapter Hentai scene they caught and not the 10V LN that turned into an awesome anime.

Yeah i knew that pretty much already. Just reading that scene made me go *Bloodnose* And "0.0".

Atleast everyone who knows me from this section only, knows i'm a pervert to no end :p

I just got back from Japanland for some Kendo stuff I had to attend to and caught up SAO episodes.

This series is easily the best I've seen in quite awhile.

IMO - this show could go on for quite some time if they (They being Aniplex, ASCII Media Works, Namco Bandai Games, and Genco) make enough money off of it. There's a lot of material to go on especially if they go into the other stroyline arcs. As it is now they could technically go up to the fourth arc (or season) with UW.

If you want to see it go that far I would advise on buying the BluRays when they come out as that is how a show continues or not into additional seasons. :]

As for 16.5 and the 18 material there is always OVAs' - One can hope but it probably won't happen.

I've known about SOA for quite some time now, but I have only started watching it (finished the first 8 eps. today), but I am quite confused!

Is there a difference between the .pdf text files & the novel? No, wait, let me rephrase that:
From where did the .pdf text files come from, and what exactly is the original form of SOA?
Has it always been a light graphic novel? If so, from where did all the descriptions of the .pdf text files come from? :)

Sorry for asking so many questions! I am just so in love with SOA, 9and I've been hearing a lot of comments about its volumes and whatnot, but when I check manga sites, only the first 7 chapters of the first volume are listed down.

I checked Baka-Tsuki, and it has most of the chapters from the other volumes, so yeah. Can anyone clear this out to me? What exactly is the form of SOA, and where did these translated .pdf text files come from.

Light novel -> manga/ anime

There are 10 light novel volumes as of now, in which the anime has used parts of both volume 1 and 2 (probably will also use 3 and maybe 4 by the end of the season). The light novel itself is not proffesionally translated as of now, so only volumes 1-9 +2 chapters of 10 have been translated by the fan groups.

Every time I've dealt with production delays with CR it only lead to a delay under 24 hours o.o

that player is not the one they use, thats just some cheap one for RAW versions, though I never put it on fullscreen because the quality is somewhat lacking. Their stream is the fastest I know ^^

Crunchyroll sucks. I rather follow the sub groups like UTW and SubDesu (Ecchi Desu) to download episodes. Since there is no lack of internet freezing while watching the anime then or those ragged up pop-ups.

How long does it usually take for UTWoots to sub an episode?

I just passed by their site and there are also 2 versions, is the SD decent? because 400mb is a bit too much for an episode and will take some time to DL
