[Survey] Would you like to see me do a v145 release?

So, I was wondering, would people here like to see me do a v145 release? As many (if not all) of you that frequent here probably already know, my all-time favorite version is and probably will always be v136. However, that doesn't mean that, like every other little boy, I have not had the 'urge' to "play" with ("new toys") v144 or v145 a little... Additionally, if you're wondering why you've never seen a v144 release from me (for those of you who don't already know); I made an agreement that I would (never) share it as a condition of receiving it... So, you will NEVER see a v144 release from me, because I am a man of my word! (probably one of the very few left on this planet)[If I say I AM going to do something I DO IT, If I say I AM NOT going to do something I DON'T do it]... However, I am not bound to that same agreement with anyone over the files I currently have for v145, hence the question ~ Would you like to see me do a v145 release?

There would be a HIGH likelihood that I would just make it an add-on to my v136 release, which would of course mean that you would HAVE to download my v136 release (and get it working) FIRST... That, or I would just combine the two so you can download my release regardless of whether you want to use v136 or v145 (only you would NOT be able to actually run them simultaneously [either way]) Additionally, I would not have the intent to actually 'support' the v145 add-on, or 'portion' as extensively as I have my v136 release. So more or less, there wouldn't be any support for it (at least from me)... Furthermore, as if the lack of support wouldn't be bad enough, I have no intent to keep it up to date, or update it at all after I release it, (EVER) for that matter. It would be a "You take what you can get..." Chances are, I will return to working on v136 (just like I did after I "played" with v144 a little bit), or I may even be "disappearing from the 'game' " all-together... =\

Since it's public now anyways, I voted yes, it may help some people.

If you are planning to make a v145 release... I would suggest you to fix few things inside. Like reactivate some important but missing npcs on world map and so on. But ofc it could be good to see a such release from you ^^

So far the only one I know of for sure that's "missing" is the "Inventory Master" -- and it's really funny you mention it, because that's what I am doing as we type :wink:

Though they're not really "missing" for whatever reason they are not set to spawn by default -- so, if you used the proper trigger link you can get them to spawn w/o editing the world NPCGEN :wink:

IE ~ use ACTIVATE CREATURE BUILDER in the GM menu and use the # 1479 , then all of the Inventory Master's will appear :wink:

There are some special npcs also that need to be removed or disabled. Unless you know what they are doing and if they can't harm your server :lol:

TBH I don't plan on going through the entire NPCGEN (it's fucking huge). I figure if I do a release out of this, at least people will have a working server that they can use to play around on, or learn off of... I really think most of the people that DL releases anyway usually don't ever open a "public" server, they use it to 'play around with' (kinda like myself)... If you saw the numbers of how many ppl downloaded my v136 release, put it this way, there are NOWHERE near as many "public 'private' servers" open as many times as my v136 release has been DL'd (I know I know, some ppl download it more than once due to bad DL's etc, but still!)...! If someone wants to use it for a 'live' server then they can worry about the important things that need to be done on their own :wink:

Unless someone has or is willing to make a list for me, the Inventory Master will probably be the only thing really changed in the world NPCGEN... Also, I guess now would be a good time to put in ANY other requests/info in the event that I do make a release... STILL, NO PROMISES !!! I also want to see how voting goes ~.~

ADD: I think one of the biggest and most important votes will be my wife, because god only knows once I get involved in making a release she wont see me until it's done :lol:

Though someone was to post a real survey link by some noob (I was on my phone when I saw this so no, ur not a noob 343.) But im glad it was just this.

Sadly, I wont know my wife's vote until I ask her, of course (that and until she gets home from work :lol:)...

I'm sure you all also know and understand that (most likely) her blessing, or veto, will overrule all other votes and opinions :lol:

I say definitely yes! Considering the standard of your v136 release, it's a BIG FAT YES!! My vote got it up to 30, we need a few more :p And I really hope your wife "Ok's" the vote :P

So far i'm seeing posts of positive feedback (i voted yes myself), would those that voted no give reason, or are you all just spammers?

I was going to just leave my poll vote at yes...but seeing how the NO's are in-front i'll give a written vote of yes.
The only reason i can see a no poll is perhaps some people feel threatened by the prospect of EVERYONE being able to run this release. (343 makes it so easy a monkey could install)

I voted no, there is nothing wrong with giving back to the community..but things like 1.4.5 should require at least a tad bit of effort to get them up and running. From my standpoint, 1.4.4 was made ridiculously simple..and once it was, then everyone could have their own 1.4.4, with little to no knowledge of how to do ANYTHING. If you want to make a release, I would say go for it..but don't make it into a ready to go VM.
Just my opinion on it.

Oh, no, it wouldn't be in a "ready to go VM" -- I am leaning more toward the side of just doing an "add-on" to my v136 release (if I do it) so that I can "properly" post it in this section and close it right away (like I did for my iWeb release) seeing as I have no intent to "support" it...
